Hi Bev! I'm sorry to hear that you've been so sick. You should definitely find an LLMD in your area. 2-4 weeks of antibiotics will not be enough. A good LLMD will also run other tests and help you find the best possible treatment for your specific case. They can also treat you for any possible co-infections, which are very common with Lyme. My LLMD thinks I have about
5 confections and he is treating me accordingly (even though I'm not CDC positive).
My LLMD said the only way to estimate how long you've been sick (when there's no bullseye rash), is to recall when symptoms started. For me, it was 2006, but I think I've had it much longer than that because of vague symptoms that started over 10 years ago (not to mention the fact that it can lie dormant for many years too).
I've been on antibiotics since Feb of this year, and my LLMD predicts it will take 2-3 years of treatment for me to get to where I need to be. So again, definitely find an LLMD in your area. I'm in TN so I can't be of much help there.
I know what you mean, it's a relief to finally know what's wrong, but also scary. I'm not better yet, but now that I'm seeing a Lyme Literate Dr I feel much more confident about
everything. Good luck and PLEASE find an LLMD
