Babesia treatment

I have been treating Babesia for 2.5 months.  I am taking clindamycin and malarone.  The malarone is kicking my derriere.  The fatigue is overwhelming but something I went through prior to treatment.  I would appreciate input on how long did the fatigue last for those who were treated for Babesia.  I do know that this co-infection is pretty hard to treat.  Also, my LLMD states it is too early to add herbs into the mix??????  What are your thoughts on that?

Your LLMD might want to build up your immune system before adding herbs to the mix. Mine waited months to add them in. At least he knows enough to add them in eventually. :)

Does make sense a little bit. I've been frustrated that I'm not pumping up on abx and herbs but all the drs keep telling me it doesn't work that way and your body can't handle fighting it all at once. I do recognize that I'm small as well and doctors probably don't want to risk overwhelming my pint-size body. It is still difficult though wanting to run and someone telling you "nope, you have to walk" And some herbs are very strong. My herbalist doesn't want me to start a lot of what I hoped to be on by now because she doesn't think I'm ready. I hope you start feeling better soon!

Thank you flowergal and opugirl.  Yea, I tend to want to "run", too.  Patience, patience, patience.  I am 9 months into treatment.  How did the Mepron make you feel, flowergal?

I thought Bart was the main enemy but now the air hunger is ridiculous! I need to treat Babs too. I'm going to talk to my doctor on Tuesday...I truly hate it and yes I miss running too. But I feel like I ran a marathon between the fatigue and air hunger :-(

I have been using Cryptolepis for about 3 months for possible Babesia (treating based on symptoms, not testing since the tests are so inaccurate). It is an herb that Buhner & Horowitz have been using that is also used for malaria. At times it seems to work really, really well and at others am not so sure. Am continuing to use it for at least the next 2 months and continuing to monitor symptoms.

Summer, not sure how Mepron made me feel. I take so many supplements and was on that combo for a while. But it did help the symptoms of Babesia go away or simmer down. Now taking artisimin
twice a day 2 in the a.m. 2 in the p.m. that has helped also.

Well 3 weeks in on a new Babesia treatment and I think its working well!!

A-Bab; cryptolepis;artemesia; and sawmento.   Seems to be very effective

I was on Mepron/zithro artemesia but did not work...maybe some antbio resistance don;t know.

Ask your LLMD about the above herbs because I am pleasantly happy....not over the hump yet but several symptoms waning...

Thanks so much for the feedback.  I CANNOT believe how fatigued and weak I am feeling....unbelievable.
