Don't mean to be negative.
There are a couple of other places that treat lyme. I don't know if they are LLND, but I only have the names of the place no practitioners names.
There is another MD whose name I have but I don't know if she still treats Lyme patients. She was in a news piece and it was very unclear. I would suspect that her concern was keeping her license while still treating her patients to the best of her ability.
curacao, I don't think you really want Raleigh though if you are saying between Charlotte and Atlanta. Although, Raleigh could be doable especially if you live near Charlotte. I have used the train before to get to an appointment between Raleigh and Charlotte. It all depends on where you are.
I am actively looking if you want to send me an email, I'll let you know what I find. I may go way out of state though eventually because I have family in New England. But I'll let you know if I find anything here.
I would not go to either Duke or UNC. Duke has a doctor who writes papers about there being no such thing as Chronic Lyme. I also have a friend who is a Dr at Duke. My husband asked him if I should be treated at Duke. He said no, they won't believe that it could be Lyme. My Rheumatologist once said not to go to a teaching hospital unless its for some very special procedure only done at that hospital. Unfortunately, I've found that to be true at both Duke and UNC. Neither experience was enjoyable and neither was productive. I waited a long time and was treated like a third class human being. Unless you know someone with a name and direct experience, I'd stay away from docs at teaching hospitals.
I don't mean to be a downer. I do have then name of a couple of other practices and don't know much about them but what is on their websites, which wasn't much. I think that's why I haven't called them. Of course, I've had a lot going on with family that has taken priority. I might get a little more info once I get my test results back.
Let me know. I'll be happy yo share info with you. I'm very near Raleigh by the way. I'm wondering how far Atlanta is from you? If that is the extent of how far you want to travel, might you be willing to travel the same distance in another direction if someone came up with a good option? Would train travel make it a little easier? I know that I could drive even to Charlotte, but with the train life is easier and I can travel that far even if it takes longer. I don't know what symptoms are bothering you so it's hard to tell what's best.
I know that there's a good doctor in DC, which can definitely be done by train but have been hesitant because I'm unsure of what treatment will entail and how long I would need to stay.
I've had symptoms for 35+ years. Diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 12+ years ago, have always know about EBV (at least 20 years) and I am awaiting my Igenex test.
Let me know if you want any of the info I have. I'll be happy to let you know anything new I find. Just email me using the blue envelope and then we can discuss off line.
