Need advice on nerve pain from herx

Hi all-really struggling with this one. I've been pulsing omni, azithro, and mino for about 7 weeks. Lately, the herx I receive from it is awful. I have pain in nerves of my legs that shoots like fire up through my body all the way to my neck( and every imaginable uncomfortable place in between). I haven't had any abx for 5 days and it will not subside. For pain, I have Percocet and it barely helps at all. Anyone have suggestions on how to get rid of this or handle the pain? I really appreciate any and all ideas.

Thanks Razzle. Many people suggest, "don't forget to detox". My question is , "How much is enough?" I'm drinking a lot of water, taking daily Epsom salt baths, infrared sauna, burbur drops, and I probably missed a couple. Is there anything big that I'm missing here? Thanks again!

I only put lemon in the water every now and then. I should do that more too.

Bdoc, skin brushing in the morning and the evening seems to help, even if I'm not bathing or showering right then. Wearing natural fibers is also a good idea, as it lets your skin breath better.

Also, decaf green tea seems to help, and the lemon water is definitely a good tool. It'sa good idea to evaluate your diet for anything that could be counterproductive (dairy, gluten, sugar, processed foods), while incorporating anything that could be beneficial (ginger, garlic -- if that agrees with you --, same with cayenne pepper).

Also, you may want to review your supplements and make sure you're getting adequate B vitamins, C, and minerals. Hot and cold therapy may also help.

Lastly, I would encourage you to use hydrogen peroxide in your detox baths if you aren't already. After swishing with hydrogen peroxide seemed to miraculously cure some very painful dental/gum pain that I know was lyme related, I'm a true believer. The Newbies post on here has instructions for how to use the hydrogen peroxide in your baths.

I was referring to three-week cycles, so I'm only 4 weeks in unfortunately. However, I noticed that my herx on the Monday of week one of this cycle was really bad, but then Wednesday and Friday my herx was more manageable. I'm having a lot of weird pains in my joints - in new places - which may be a sign of things to come. How have the 3-week cycles compared for you?

I'm so sorry you've had such a hard time, bdoc. I really hope you are feeling better and that the doctor will help you implement a treatment plan that your body can handle. Hopefully the nerve pain is a clue to where you have some (unexpected) bacteria, so maybe that will help inform which meds the doctor prescribes for this next round. Maybe just try focusing on detoxing between now and your appointment.

Just had had my appt 12 hours ago. Well, it sort of goes like this. They were surprised by the intensity of my reaction and would like to wait to start any new protocol until my pain goes to 0- or basically where it was before we started abx. They suggested that I need to hire a pain management doctor to get me through this. They also want to do an MRI of the thoracic area just to make sure that there is nothing else that could be causing the nerve pain. Assuming that the pain does go to 0(I'm about a 4/10 now and have been stuck there), they do have a gentler, kinder protocol to follow. I'm surprised my pain hasn't declined more as its now 15 days since I've taken any abx- the nerve pain is just kinda hanging around. They did lengthen their estimate of how long I would have to be treated to 2 years, up from 12-15 months. I'm going off of Lyrica(need to taper down) and will try neurontin to see if it is any better. I will continue all the other meds and supplements I was on before( deplin, methyl b12, etc,). So, in summary, since I started with them, my main problems, which were neuro related(headaches and dizziness) have essentially gone away. I still have tinnitus and a couple of other things. The challenge is that a whole new bunch of symptoms have come on, which mostly comes from the nerve pain which is touching everything from my legs on up.
