Hello. I am new to the forum and new to learning about
Lyme. I was diagnosed with chronic fatigue about
2 years ago but as my symptoms have increased, I am beginning to suspect chronic lyme. I just got tested for lyme using the standard test at the Hospital and I have not gotten the results yet but I guess it could come back negative and I still could have lyme. I started reading info from the internet and my head is spinning. So much to read and digest. I purchased the Buhner protocol book but have not received it yet. I have read his book on the Teaching of Plants and I have a lot of respect for him. I think I would like to try the herbal route but I also would like to do it under the supervision of some kind of practitioner. I have had antibiotic reactions in the past and so, would like to try a more natural approach first. I am not sure where to go because apparently the treatment of lyme is very controversial. I live in southern New England. If anyone knows of either a Lyme literate Doctor or homeopathic/holistic practitioner who might be
open minded and willing to work with the protocol, I would so very much appreciate any recommendations. I am a little wary of trying the protocol on my own because of the herx reactions and also possible herbal reactions.
Thank you so very much.

I think it's good that you're looking for a doctor to help guide you. My daughter and I are trying to avoid antibiotics too, but I have just recently been able to focus on it more and learn more since I had to be available for my mom for 3 years. This is a good site to learn alternatives. I've learned more here than I have anywhere else, so I hope you do too. Good luck and keep us posted on what you find out.

Are you and your daughter working with a doctor now?

Good for you to be so informed about
alternative therapies. Our daughter has just finished 2 years of abx protocols, and we are now continuing down the herbal path. We are both using Buhner's lyme/bartonella protocols and feeling much better for it. Buhner's associate, Julie McIntyre is available for consultation if you should feel like speaking with her.

Our consultation is tomorrow. I can't wait to speak with her.
I have copies of almost all of Buhner's books, the last one being the mycoplasma and bartonella coinfections book. It is a must read for anyone with lyme. I haven't read The Teaching of Plants yet, as I have been concentrating on lyme and co., but I am beginning to think Buhner is on to something here. It's the next on my list.

Hello. Thanks for all the wonderful advice. Buhner's The Secret Teaching of Plants book is so amazing. He really describes how the heart works in direct perception of nature. It is amazing because he gives concrete examples of how to tune into nature not with the mind but with the mind in sync with the heart and the heart directing the action. There is a complete respect for the consciousness of the plant and, in fact, Buhner allows the plant to "show" him it's magic and it's knowledge. This same kind of interaction can be used with any conscious being. Delightful. The man is extraordinary. So, when I saw that he wrote a protocol, I was very excited and hopeful.
Thanks for the advice about
contacting his associate and about
his other book. That would be very helpful indeed. Good luck to you and your daughter.
Thanks again!

Mycoplasma is a fascinating subject in itself. I think anyone with Lyme or even without Lyme, should take some time to research mycoplasma.
Thankyou for adding another book to the reading list. ;-)

Hello. I just received my Buhner Books and I guess I bought the co-infections book as well and I saw the section on mycoplasma. Will definitely check it out. Briefly perusing it, I did notice something about
bleeding easily and thrombocyt
openia which I had had a strange breakout about
a year ago. So, will definitely check that out.
Also, I sat my husband down and asked him to read the foreword and the first chapter from the Lyme book just so he would let go of his belief that his wife perhaps is going crazy and that all of this is in her head. Seemed to make a difference.

Haha, of course, we are all "crazy" and its "in our heads" ;-)
bombard the husband and loved ones with research and medical jargon.
..... eventually people will believe us all.
