Well i took a long weekend to get away to lake Champlain. You know just doing what I can to enjoy life. Well out on the lake I noticed little swigglies/cork screws in my vision when looking to the sky. They look exactly like the documented microscope images of Lyme spirochetes online and in books. Am I seeing what I think I'm seeing??????

They are called floaters. I have them as well as dry eye and flashers.

I have noticed a big difference in the number of floaters in my vision since I contacted Lymes. It can be quite annoying. But compared to the major symptoms they at least don't cause pain. I would like to know if they go away if the symptoms are reduced or eliminated through treatment.

Yeah its pretty annoying. I'm just curious because I was told they are just proteins that everyone sees but when I ask someone to explain what they see its nothing or little round dots. Never strings.

I see them too, and they are like little dark strings.
But I think that spirochetes are microscopic so I doubt we can see them.

I was thinking the same thing but if we can see proteins then what says we cant see a spirochete too. I don't think we are seeing the spirochetes themselves but more something along the lines of there shadows as light passes through our eyes. Just a theory but doesn't it make u wonder?

Who knows? It's possible, maybe they get magnified by some aspect of the eye mechanism

I don't know if they are related to Lyme disease but you should probably see an ophthalmologist and have your eyes checked. What you're describing sounds like 'floaters' as some have already said here. Floaters do happen naturally with age but a sudden appearance of them, especially if you have light flashes, need to be checked as soon as possible to rule out problems with your retina. Good luck!

Thanks for the recommendation but I already had my eyes checked and aside from a slight stigmatizum my eyes are apparently fine. I don't experience flashing but I occasionally see what looks like glitter darting around aside from the floaters.

Lovehealth, that's exactly what I was thinking.

Will, an optometrist examines and measures your vision. An ophthalmologist is a specialist who can see behind the eye and examine your retina and rule out retinal detachment. His office has the equipment to see what's going on behind the eye. Symptoms for detachment can be floaters and what you're describing as glitter darting around. I wish you luck.

I get weird light things but my eye doctor told me to see a neurologist because they were auras. They're really pretty and the auras don't hurt, but I always know what's coming and it hurts!!!

I had one simple little floater most of my life until I got lymes and I literally have 20-30 now and some are bad! I do believe after I started taking antibiotics they have stopped getting worse though. It sucks but if you want to get rid of there is a surgical procedure you can go through if they are unbearable.

I've had those for a long time. Before I even got really sick, but I do think I've had dormant lyme for many year. I've thought the same thing as you-it looks like the classic spirochete photos. Don't know if it is or not. Have been to many opthamologists, including a neuro-opthamologist. Other than bad vision, all is normal with my eyes.
