Update

Wish I could post good news but that is not the case.  My gastroparesis flare seems to be unrelenting, despite Zofran, acupuncture, and the recently added IV Azithromycin. 

Add to that the shortages currently with IV trace minerals and IV vitamins...yes, I notice a difference - worsening - in symptoms when they stop putting certain minerals in my TPN, and when they cut back my IV vitamin dosing. 

So I am still unable to eat or drink anything and am still dependent on TPN and IV fluids daily.

Somebody wake me up from this nightmare...

I am sorry also, It's such a rough disease, I pray we all find a cure. You will be in my prayers today.

Positive thoughts and prayers your way. This wicked disease is relentless. So sorry you are struggling. I so appreciate yoir knowledge and helpful posts. And sure hope this passes soon for you.

Razzle, My knowledge about this disease will never equal your knowledge and hope to never go through what you are going thorough. This said, I can't help but offer my two cents on something that I know nothing about but offer them because I can feel the pain through your written words.

Somewhere on the internet I ran into an article of someone who was having issues not unlike what you are going through. The doctor took the poop from the husband, mixed it in a saline solution and inserted through the woman's rectum and into her colon. Within a a few days her symptoms abated. Apparently the flora in the husband's poop overtook the bad stuff in her intestinal tract and this resolved her problem.

I know it sounds gross and it probably may not have anything to do with what you are suffering from but I felt I should mention it in case you were looking for alternative solutions. With this disease you just never know what can help.

By the way, reading about how bad some of you are doing here is what gets my butt out of bed each morning. No matter how bad my herxing is or how much I feel like a truck ran over me, I remind myself that many of you are much worse and that is my encouragement to get up and go to work. As bad as I feel now, I fear that the day will come when I will wish for days like today if this illness gets worse.

Having trouble with my heart rhythm now...it is all over the place, and I get strange sensations in my chest and elsewhere in my body. And light-headed, nauseated when the rhythm is disorganized so much...and very fatigued.

My doctor ran an EKG and saw the irregular rhythm on there too. But he ran some lab tests for heart stuff & blood coagulation and it all came back normal (thankfully). So he says we'll just watch it and see if it gets worse or better or not with time (I don't think it'll go away on its own)...

I'm not calm enough to just watch it and see... But I don't know what else to do, either!

I am so frustrated with all this crud now...
