Two Questions

Would like assistance in two areas. First, does anyone have any suggestions or name of a LLMD in the Huntsville, AL area? We have already tried several sites that list them but have come up empty handed.
Second question is that my wife, who has Lyme, is thinking about going on diflucan to combat it. Does anyone have any information on its use. She has read a bit about it on the Bruhner site but we are concerned about what dosage and for how long to take it. BTW: she believes she also has a yeast (candida) problem as well.

Diflucan is an anti-fungal and doses of 100 to 200mg a day are common. It will have no effect on Lyme, just yeast.

The only LLMD iin AL is in Mobile.

It's good to hear you been diagnosed. The posts are right on the spot, as usual. You will need to take antibiotics much longer than a few weeks.

Regarding your question about difulcan... if you google: Dr. S., you will find a number of interesting articles. Dr. S had Lyme but was not cured by conventional IV/oral abx treatment(s). Instead,
he took Difulcan 100mg for 1 month. He felt much better but relapsed.
Then he took it for 3 months. Says he & others have been helped a great deal by it. I don't think anyone gets "cured" from late-stage lyme; but he entered some athletic competition & won!!

There are also articles on Pub Med about difulcan & minocin as a combination of drugs. I have started that protocol a month ago, and do feel better; although I think you have to stick with it for a year at least. My goal is 3-6 months on difulcan (fluconazole); and 12-18 months on minocin. If you google minocin, the Wikipedia article is very good. What makes minocin special is it's ability to cross the BBB (blood brain barrier) which is where the spirochetes end up. Along with the heart (generally discovered at autopsy after a dx of MS, Parkinson's, or Alzheimers)

If it were me, I'd take Diflucan 200mg twice a week. That should be enough to suppress candida growth without causing issues with elevated liver enzymes. Simple sugars or easily expressible carbrohydrates (high glycemic index foods) should be avoided as well. Many people can eliminate candida with a simple diet change and the addition of probiotics. I prefer probiotics with saccromyces in addition to bifido and lactobacillus.
