Hello everyone,
I have been reading posts here since I was diagnosed 3 weeks ago with Lyme and a possible co-infection of babesia and something else I can't remember now (I know you all know how this feels!). I have been sick on and off for 8 years, but very ill almost constantly for 4 years now. I was diagnosed with mold 2 years ago and also given a Lyme test which came back negative at that time. Was recently tested with another lab (Igenex) and my CD57 score is 29. Lots of bands but don't have the test in front of me. At this point I have been very sick for 4 years with severe achiness and fatigue, migraines, memory loss, dizziness, and emotional ups and downs including outbursts.
I am sick that my 3 boys (14, 10 and 10) are growing up with a sick mom. I have them largely on my own since their father and I divorced 5 years ago. My eldest has taken on far more responsibility than he should have to at such a young age. I used to be so active, work out every am at 5, ran a successful business, really on top of everything. Now I get overwhelmed by sitting at my desk trying to remember what to do.
I have seen 3 different drs here in Southern California. One said I will never get rid of this, the other said who knows, and the third one said he thinks I can be cured with antibiotics. He has started me on
Minocin 100mg 2x dayand zithro 100mg 1x day
next week add in Omnicef 300mg 2x day
third week add in Tindamax 500mg 2x a day
I have an infrared sauna at home I use a few times a week. Considering getting a hyperbaric chamber. I also do UVB treatments and H2O2 IV drips. Will be adding in vit C, glutathione and Levequin drips soon as well.
I have friends who have gone down the antibiotics route with no success. I have had some herxing symptoms but I only started the meds 10 days ago (zithro) and added in Minocin 3 days ago so I know they will get worse. The friends who have done the antibiocs had to quit because the herxing was so bad so now they are going to a clinic in Swizterland. I am wondering if I just bypass the antibiotics and go straight to alternative methods now. Any thoughts on this path? My dr says he can cure me with the antibiotics but at what cost? Does anyone know the long term effects of these? I don't have a lot of money to waste on needless treatments so I want to make the most of the savings I do have, which is not a lot but at least I can cover a few expenses.
Any help with the questions above would be great. I am so thankful to finally find people like me. Truly I thought I was crazy for so long.
