Help reading Ignex lyme test

Hi everyone!
Just got my test results back and I live in Canada so no one seems to know how to read them. Any help is really appreciated!

The number 41 also came up **** on another version and everything past that was negative.

That is without a doubt a positive test. The good news is since you had such a strong positive result, it's possible that at least your immune system is attempting to fight it off. Definitely find a LLMD ASAP.

Haha I looked at your results and went yippers that is one of the most positive tests I've seen. I would recommend seeking out an ILADS trained doctor. Hopefully you are near the US border maybe?

I live near Buffalo but I can't find a doctor that will take me on.

All the wait lists are six months.
Any ideas?

Your results are almost identical to mine with multiple positive bands on the IgM and a quadruple positive on band 41 on the IgG. You're the only person besides me I've ever seen a quadruple positive on any band and I've seen many Western blots. Sounds like you've had this thing a while. I was bit 20 years ago and then re-infected 2 years ago. Are you very sick or have mostly mild symptoms?

Todd: I'm only 19 and we think I maybe got bit 10+ years ago.
I showed my former doctor a bite 8 years ago and she said it was impossible as I had never left Canada. Guess I'm living proof.
How are you doing? The ++++ has scared me quite a bit.

My symptoms are:
I can only eat rice and quinoa without getting a pain in my side and passing out. Been eating that for a year after a ten day stint in the hospital not eating at all for those days.
When I walk I walk to the left and have to use a cane.
Extreme dizziness that happened when I got bit by a bug three weeks ago that might of also had lyme (what are the odds).
My memory is pretty crappy
Started to get extreme aches and pain
Doctors say I am anaphlatxtic to exercise but it might just be Lyme disease causing me to pass out if I run at all.
Extreme anixety over not knowing what was wrong
And a bit depressed being 19 and unable to essentially leave my house.

Sorry to hear you have such severe symptoms. No need to worry about the quadruple positive per se. It's not an indication of how serious your condition is. Just a measure of your immune response to the infection. I have a bunch of symptoms though all on the mild side so I'm doing pretty ok. Good luck with your treatment!

When you say it's an immune response to the infection, what does that mean? Is it the body fighting it off or?

Hi Nmfmc,

Again, sorry to hear what you are going through. My worst symptom right now is complete insomnia.

The tests used for Igenex measures antibodies. So when you see ++++ it means there were a LOT of antibodies in your system.

No you do. antibodies go around and find bacteria then lock on like a drone and immune cells go out and attack.

The point of vaccines is actually to stimulate antibody production to something that is very similar to a more lethal infection. The antibodies are close enough that were you to get infected with something like tetanus you would already have antibodies produced that would go in and attack.

The PCR test looks for Lyme DNA but it's not an accurate test to say the least. I didn't bother testing for it through IGenex and was PCR negative through a different lab.
