Rollercoaster

Hi everyone,

This is one rollercoaster ride that I didn't buy tickets for! The ups and down with this disease sure can be frustrating :(

I am 7 months into treatment. I saw marked improvement in June.
I even got a part time job working from home, I haven't worked in a year.

Then I started to treat Babs with Mepron. I was pretty much in a constant herx for 7 weeks. It has been rough. I detox a lot, rest, try to
get some physical activity when my body allows it, and do everything possible to distract my mind. I feel like Babs has been my worst coinfection. Every 4-6 days I flare. I cannot break that cycle.

So, I had 10 pretty good days here again (it was soooo exciting) and yesterday starting herxing again. Today I was felt so horrible, I spent most of the day on the couch :(

Just when I think this is it...I am going to turn another corner BAM, I get slammed again. I cried a lot today. I do this everytime I herx. I tell myself over and over that this too shall pass, and that I am going to get better. I have had symptoms get better, but it is a very SLOW process.

It takes every ounce of strength to fight this disease and the treatment is not easy. I have had days where I feel almost 85% and cherish those so much. It is a taste of the life waiting for me.

I cannot wait to get off this ride. I tell my husband he won't be able to keep up with me ;)

I know you all understand. Thanks for letting me vent.

Here is a list of things I do to stay sane when feeling crappy and need mental distractions:
Spotify(free to download and create music playlists and merge itunes playlists with)
Jigsaw puzzles
Write down and log all lymie stuff in a notebook just for that so when you have any appointments you don't get anxious about remembering everything
Fresh air -open windows, fan, even if you cannot be outside, let some air in, or sit outside
Have someone take you to a coffee shop like starbucks, get some tea and play word games or chat/journal-very low key
Try resting in different positions, experiment with placing pillows under your legs, beside you, etc
Memory foam pillows to ease neck discomfort
Warm baths
online games, words games, and word search books, puzzle books, etc
cut up magazines and collect pics and words of things you love or want to visualize in your life
cuddle a dog or cat/pet
keep well hydrated

Thank you all for your replies and support. It helps me so much to have others going through the same thing relate.

acharms - - that seems to be a common theme with treating Babesia.
It takes several months to see the improvement. Reading that you have made significant progress makes me feel a lot better!

I am always looking for the positives out of this all, we will really get to experience life and cherish it in a way that most people don't.

And right now I am sitting on my deck, enjoying a beautiful summer day listening to the birds sing while my son naps. Totally at peace :)
I can tell that my central nervous system is calming down and the anxiety is getting less.
