Hi Blake,
I understand that you want to keep on doing sports, I'm married to a sports addict (5 times 2hrs / week), so I understand...
We sometimes fight: he thinks I would feel better if I would work out. I can only walk 500 meters & all of my muscle strength has just disappeared... I used to do pilates the last few years (I've been ill for a very long time, so cardio exercice was out of the question, so I tried to maintain good muscle tone) but once I started treatment, I had to stop, there's no strength left at all, I can't even lift an 11 lbs bag and I'm just too exhausted. Husband says I breath like a thirsty camel in the Sahara when I walk up the stairs, so not fit at all.
But I would like to advice you to take it slow... LD puts a huge strain on your body, and treatment puts even more strain on it. Please don't push yourself. My dr said this to me: don't revalidate before being healed, first you heal, then you revalidate. I think your dr is right...
There's many success stories on this forum, even from people that have been sick for a long long time, so you'll have plenty of time to catch up with the power training
