I'm  sorry if this is "old news" but while I wait for lab results from Igenex, I came across this article....

I'm a new member here and just had my 1st visit with a LLMD....After taking my detailed history and physical exam, his first impression was Lyme with Babs.....Wow, I was thrilled....At least he acknowledged Lyme and my "unusual symptoms"....My family Dr has tried the Doxy routine on and off for 10 weeks with little success and with the help of this forum and some special contacts, I sought out a LLMD....My blood is on the way to the Lab to look for a bunch of things....

Going the ADP route with mega probiotics as he states that I have a yeast infection....As a man, I did not think I could get one of those!!!  LOL

Currently on Doxy until the yeast infection clears as I only have about 10 days left.....Then we deal with the "other stuff".....

Thank You all for all your posts....I was bitten by a tick on May 28, this year, site swelled to size of a silver dollar, then, incredibly, I removed another one 3 weeks later....I have been sick all summer.....I find the nights are the "best' for me and that's why I'm here now......Once cured, and I will be, I will never cease to bring this disease to the forefront any time the opportunity arises to raise awareness.......

Thanks for sharing Mikeb2308. I remember the long wait for my test results. My instincts had told me so! My LLND told me lyme bartonella and erlichia and sure enough when I got the results she was spot on. I think these doctors are so knowledgeable and they are one of the few who actually pay attention to the symptoms!

And the battle continues on...

Just some observations. Good article but niacin tends to be hard on the liver so that needs to be monitored if taking it. The A.D.P. you're taking is the oregano from Biotics? That's some strong stuff and caused me to herx a lot on 4 a day when I was on it. I took it for two weeks to kill Lyme and noticed a day of white-coated tongue which indicates an increase in yeast so I can't see it being good for Candida. It's so powerful that it kills the good bacteria as well. Granted I was a little lax in taking my probiotics at the time. I stopped it as oregano has some controversy over whether it can be taken long-term. It can inhibit iron absorption and is caustic so can be hard on the stomach lining especially if not taken with food.

Good luck with your IGenex results. It's an excellent lab and I had great luck with my Lyme Western Blot showing many positive bands while other labs did not.

Also please realize that while you are taking abx, the yeast issue won't resolve unless you are taking massive doses of probiotics or are drinking kefir daily - unless one of your docs has you on an anti-fungal drug. Some still will need to take probiotics or kefir though.

Be sure to be detoxing too!! That will help with all kinds of issues. There is a great post about detoxing in the "New to Lyme?" thread.

Thanks for the suggestions, especially the ADP and eating ...I will try to remember to take it with food......I'm not taking the niacin, I know about the liver things and what it can do, but I do think niacinamide is gentler....Thanks again!!!! Full moon alert!!!!!!!LOL
