Western Blot advice please

Hi,

I am getting a western blot through Igenex next week. I have been on doxycycline and azithromyocin for about 10 months now. I also have a prescription for Metronizadole and Amoxicillin which provoke a pretty severe reaction in me. I haven't taken any bacteriacidals(amoxicillin/flagyl) for a couple months.

Should I take Metronizadole/Amoxicillin to provoke a response? Or, do you all think my immune system will have a "memory" of when I took the bactericidals?

Alternatively, should I quit antibiotics for a couple days before the test?

I just want to make sure I have the best odds of getting IGG/IGM bands. Thanks for your replies

I think it would be good to talk directly to IGeneX to find out about interactions between which abx and their tests. www.igenex.com/

Thank you, I will call Igenex tommorrow. However, in case they don't get back to me in time: since I'm getting the blood drawn on Wednesday, I was hoping someone had experience using bacteriacidal antibiotics for a day or two to break up the round body/spirochetes and thereby aid an immune response. I looked through the "New to Lyme" and did not see a protocol for that. Thanks again

I can only say that I only tested positive after being on Doxy for 2 months, previous to the antibiotics I was negative.

So,I guess I'm saying don't do anything different to that which you are doing at the moment,by the way I know that I'm not the only one here who tested positive only after treatment had begun.

I got my blood drawn yesterday. Apparently Igenex does not seem to think antibiotics affect a western blot significantly, so I did not do anything special to prepare. Thanks again for the input.
