Urgent help needed for seriously impaired Lyme patient near Elizabethton, TN - please help!!

Hi All,
I was contacted today asking if I could find a way to help another Lymie. She's in bad shape from the infections, and because she has so very little income. She needs help in finding resources in the area and in small things like filling out paperwork and such.

I've only just spoke with her online a bit, so I'm still unsure of what all she needs. This is what I hope is on many hearts though - helping those who need us the most.

Please, if you can help in anyway, either post here or send me an email and we can put our heads together and see if we can't help out another Lymie who is desperate!

I have an appointment with my LLMD coming up. I will see if she has any recommendations for doctors in that area. What else does she need help with? I might be able to help in some other way as well.

OH thank you, thank you!!! I was hoping that if I posted here, where we are a community, not just some people in the same place, that I would get some offers!!

The gal needing help is in Elizabethton, Tn, from what I've been told. I've only just been able to talk with her for a tiny bit, so I don't know what all she is in need of, but I do know that she is seriously cognitively affected, and is barely making it money wise.

I will be in touch with you Cat, as I have your email, as I know more.

Thank you so much, Acharms! I think we will need all the help we can get!

I'm actually wanting to put together a group of people that are willing to do these types of things for those that are seriously impaired due to Lyme and the other tick-borne infections. Anyone interested in joining in, please let me know either here on this thread or by email.

It's past time that we had people set up in different parts of the country to do this type of thing!!!

I will help out as much as I can. I did a little research but I would have to know more about her financial situation and her actual needs. The county health dept. is a good start for references.

Thanks Cat!! I also found a place called "A.R.M." where she could go to get food and possibly some other necessities, depending on her exact situation.

Gathering the info I need is really slow going because of the severity of her cognitive dysfunction due to these diseases. I'll send you an email as I don't feel right discussion her situation on an open forum without her permission.

Even those who haven't experienced the devastation personally know how bad things can get if one has these infections and they don't get treatment soon enough!! We need to have a network in place to help "catch" these people - there's no reason they have to suffer through this alone!
