I think someone posted this link a few days ago and I had read it already. Thanks for bringing it to my attention again.

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 1999. I met the criteria as far as trigger points, pain, and fatigue and the diagnosis was made by a rheumatologist.

I've just been diagnosed with Lyme Disease based on a 2009 Igenex test with 3 Indeterminate bands. I had it done by a non-LLMD doc and he read it as negative. The LLMD I saw read it as positive and I believe he is correct that I have Lyme Disease. I sure have an awful lot of the symptoms.

So I'm wondering if we can have both fibromyalgia and Lyme Disease? Or is it really Lyme Disease misdiagnosed as fibromyalgia? Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

 

Diana, I believe Lyme is the root cause of these conditions. If my husband had both Lyme and ALS as separate diseases, he would not be healing. ALS is fatal,causing death typically in two to five years. Toby's symptoms started almost 3 years ago. The neurologist gave him a partial diagnosis of ALS, but she didn't tell him what causes it. These autoimmune conditions are just symptoms of Lyme. Since there isn't any treatment for ALS, he can't be healing from that. He has however been treated for Lyme and he's getting better. Now, of course, they are trying to say he doesn't have ALS, even though he was diagnosed by one of the top neurologists in Oregon and has the early symptoms typical for PALS.
