Greetings all,

I'm new to the forum. I've been feeling a lot of support just by reading everyone's post. Thanks to everyone for being there for each other.

For the third time I've tested positive for a new lyme infection. This time I've had 2 months of doxy, 1 month of ceftin, and currently taking Mepron and Zithromax for a presumptive dx of babesia based on my symptoms.

Recently I was supposed to go on vacation, but had to cancel because I just didn't have it in me to go (I know you all can relate).

The good news is that, although she didn't have to, the person I was going to rent accommodations from was very understanding about my last minute cancellation and totally refunded my deposit. She actually sent me a get well card when she returned the deposit!

So today despite feeling really lousy I'm thankful for some compassion. smilewinkgrin

Thanks for sharing a positive story. I'm completely down in the dumps today and having a hard time coming to terms with how ill I am and how I'm going to continue living life as I know it. My husband is away on a (long!) work trip, and I've had about all I can handle getting myself and my little one up and out the door all week for work and school. Working is an uphill battle every day because I can't do the level of thinking required of me and I'm scared and ashamed about that and don't know how to talk to colleagues about it because I'm fairly new there. It's a job I've had my eye on for two years, and now that I have it, I don't know how to keep it.

I finally had to cry for help today and sent my son off with my parents for the day. I cried when he left because weekends are our special time but I just can't do it and I'm so desperate for rest. My mom suggested that he spend an overnight with them, and I cried even more at the thought of that, though I know it's exactly what I need. After spending several minutes this morning trying to put the top for his sippy cup on the orange juice bottle and feeling so confused and frustrated that it wasn't working.

I totally understand why this seems to be such a close community here - not because misery loves company, but because this all makes you feel so frightened and alone, it's a godsend to have others who understand.

Off to try and get some sleep.

P.S. I tested positive for a new infection with my recent symptoms too... I'm not convinced that it's not just chronic showing up funky in the bloodwork, and neither is my doc.

I think it is a good thing that you are letting your parents help with your son. I know it can be hard when you want to spend time with them, but it sounds like you need a break especially with your husband away. Hopeful with some rest today you'll be in a better place tomorrow to enjoy some time with your son.

I too don't really know if I have a brand new infection or it is old stuff. Since it seems to me no one really is sure how to tell the difference all I really care about is how to best treat and hopefully someday cure it.

Welcome to the Lyme community Swallow. It took me about six months before I finally decided to post. Compassion and support are key to healing. Like Sunny said, it helps to connect to people who understand. Sunny, I wish you some healing so that you can get up in the morning and tackle your day.

Its all about support!

I usually post funny little lift me ups, but I feel poopy too, and nothing possitive comes to mind right now.

It took a while for me to notice this mess has cycles. I have times I feel much better.........but not today!

Thanks for the kind responses. The timing of this thing really stinks for me - but then when is a good time to be debilitatingly ill??? ;)

I did have a better day today, and asked for help again when I needed it (formerly something I NEVER did) so I guess I'm learning the importance of pacing myself. I also learned the beauty of GROCERY DELIVERY. Hello, I love you Peapod!!!

The week ahead seems daunting... with my husband still away and a huge week at work, and having to tell my boss I need to scale back a little and concentrating on getting well. But one day at a time, I guess. I see the doc tomorrow morning and I'll go from there.

My child has been and absolute ANGEL... the powers that be are definitely watching over me. :)
