so the question is if dry skin brushing, detox baths and sauna are helping detox through pores, when and how often is it ok to use skin moisturizer? Had a few cold nights here in the northeast and see my skin becoming drier. Any thoughts, suggestions?

I too suffered from very dry, itchy skin prior to my nightly dry skin brushing. Doing this every night along with the Epsom salt and peroxide bath, my skin itches far less and even feels smoother. I would have thought it would make it even drier but it did not. I am in my 7th week of this routine.
How much water are you drinking each day? Forget caffeine as it is a mild diuretic and causes you to lose even more precious water, this coming from a guy who used to drink 6 cups of coffee a day...NOT anymore.....
Im trying not to use any moisturizer as I do not want anything blocking my pores. We need to use our skin as an organ of elimination.
I hope your skin improves as mine has and wish you good luck.....Lets ALL get better.

Maybe extra virgin coconut oil would be an option. It's great for skin, and absorbs really easily. Doesn't feel thick or greasy once it's rubbed in, so maybe it wouldn't clog pores too bad...

I second the extra virgin coconut oil. It's amazing. It works better than any store bought moisturizer.

I've found that I don't need lotion much since I starting skin brushing. I thought that was strange. It was only after doing it 3 or 4 times. We'll see if that continues. This is the lotion I've been using for a few years. I get my coconut oil there too. http://www.tropicaltraditions.com/organic_moisturizing_lotions.htm
