Good morning everyone,
The past few days have been ROUGH. I started the AL-Complex last Saturday and within this past week have felt worse. I remember going to the Dr about
two years ago when I felt this way and they started me on Tegretol. It really helped calm me down, but a majority of the symptoms remained and therefore I remained on Tegretol until I weaned off about
a month ago, so this could be withdrawal symptoms, but I doubt it because I weaned off slowly.
Once I started the medication, I feel like my heart stops beating then sloes down the flutters to catch up and I gasp for air. When I stand up, I get very dizzy. My appetite and digestion is AWFUL. If I eat anything starchy or carb related, I end up getting low blood sugar symptoms (odd taste in mouth, dizzy, ravenous hunger.) When I do eat, I feel sick and I am bloated in my legs and arms and very very stiff. I have terrible constipation. I have cystic acne on my scalp and back again. I have the conjunctivitis in my eyes STILL. I am tired tired tired tired... I go to sleep at 8am, nap during the day and wake up around 9 if I am not barely making it into work.
Last night, after dinner I was still hungry and I ate a decent amount of coconut butter. about
1/2 a cup. I haven't been eating carbs and my body is surely in ketosis and craving fat. I have had these fat cravings for about
two years now, but after eating the coconut oil this time, I got very ill. I was throwing up (and other things,... keeping it clean) all night.
I feel like I am losing my mind right now. I am really sorry for such a negative post.
I decided today to lower my thyroid medication back down to 1 1/2 grains from 1 3/4 in case that is the culprit. I also want to stop the B vitamins I am on, I am worried the B vitamins can be causing a lot of this as well. Although I cannot find any articles online about
that. I am just going to take the AL-Complex, the 1 1/2 grains of Thyroid and my D vitamin.
I am confused with the thyroid meds because I have read somewhere that symptoms like I am having happen when you aren't taking enough Thyroid medication, and I notice that after I take my medication in the morning that I feel significantly better, then I start to crash again in the afternoon. I am going to post on a Thyroid board as well asking about
that.
With all of these symptoms, I dont even know what to think anymore...
Some questions:
1. Did you see old symptoms arise once beginning treatment.
2. How long does the Herx go on for
3. Does anyone else feel their symptoms get worse at a certain time of the year? (Mine are all around this time up until November.)
4. When everything started to get REALLY bad again was when I began taking the Thyroid meds. Can stimulating your thyroid hormones bother the Lyme and cause an increase of symptoms?
For all of you who take the time to read and answer this, thank you.
