I am wondering if you guys out there have been able to continue to work through treatment, herxing, etc? It's just me & I don't want to lose my job!

I can relate and have been working through illness, herxing, and treatment. It has been very difficult and also like you I have been doing it on my own. Best of luck and hopefully we can all be healthy one day.

Hi Shelly, No I took a leave from my job. I need to use my brain for my job and mine has been unavailable. I am going to attempt to return in a month or so. Pray for me.. haha

I faked it for a good month while feeling terrible and having brain fog to the max. Finally my boss called me out for doing lousy work and then I took leave. I thought a week or two tops, it's been six. I've been given up to sixteen weeks. I pray that I might be able to return in October.

Part of me is still in disbelief about being out this long. I feel very blessed to be paid for this time while I try to get better.

HI Shelley,

My boss saw me get really sick and they were awesome I was really lucky. I was quite yellow, pale and sickly looking and I'm sure the barfing in the trashcan didn't go over well. lol. and then little by little I started getting better and working more and then once I felt up to it I made up the time I was sitting at my desk by staying late and coming in on the weekends occasionally. I hope your bosses can only be so kind to you but I hear its rare. Maybe your condition will improve rapidly as well and you won't have to worry about it. Hang in there dear!

I was wondering the same thing. I'm new to this. I was to start a new job when I started to get really sick with a bunch of symptoms, trips to the doctor, the ER and a hospital admission, before a diagnosis was made. If they are still willing to hire me I'm going to have to try and work through it. I have a feeling I'm going to be bouncing from job to job with poor performance, but I have no choice but to try.
What makes it even harder is my family seems angry with me. I was between jobs due to my previous employer closing his business where I worked 60 hours a week. Now I'm being treated like I'm lazy because they can't see an open wound or a mangled leg ect.

When i was herxing very badly at work at beginning of this yr, it would get so bad, i would just run into the bathroom and cry or call my husband and cry. My neuro symptoms would come and go luckily but the muscle weakness was the worst!! If i had to change a bandage on someone leg instead of squatting i would sit on the floor!! I sat whenever i could and that was almost impossible but i made it through somehow. I do recall one incident where i had to lean over a patients bed to get somthing for her and it took weak muscle in my body not to fall right into bed with her lol!!

Colubrid, I am sorry tho hear that.

I took 3 days of antibiotics & I think I am having my first herx....scary but I am glad, I guess that means things are working...I am sitting in a bath of salt & peroxide, lol, I never ever imagined my life as this!

Sunny, I'm sorry to hear you've been out so long, but I am glad you are getting paid. I do have aflack and am wondering if it would cove this. I don't have that much vacation time built up. Get well soon!!

Lymerunner, I work in healthcare, also as an admission RN for almost one year. It's been a blessing because the physical toll has not been bad as working on the floor and I can work at my own pace. I guess ill just have to wait & see how bad the herxing gets.
