When I have air hunger, I inhale vicks. I put it around my nose and on my chest. Peppermint might help or cough drops designed to open sinuses. I had to go to my doctor and get lorazepam. That helps by relaxing the bronchial spasms. For that matter, anything that relaxes bronchial spasms would probably help, although that is just my guess and I have not researched it.
I have had my oxygen saturation tested while I was having air hunger and it was fine. So its almost like you're getting air but it just feels like you're not. But I can't say that's the case all the time.
Hang in there,
