Hey everyone I have been wondering if some people are actually curable depending on what strain they have?

I see such a wide variety of symptoms out there and im assuming this has to do with strain variations.

I also know that some people have gone 20+ years 100% symptom free after treatment while others suffer no matter what... This makes me wonder weather or not the "correct and timely treatment" really matters or if it really has to do with the strain.

They say you never see many sucess stories on the forums because there not here there out enjoying life. Well if the new cdc statistic is tru why isnt the active members posting on here through the roof?

Oh and also for people who seem to have very little to no symptoms at all would they be the easier of the group to succesfully restore to great health?

There are a ton of Lyme forums on the internet, you would have to consider all of those in your equation, not just this one.

I believe that the strain has a lot to do with the symptoms, but not all. It also depends on the weaknesses in the body, and how far that person is willing to go to heal, stress levels in their lives. Do they do all they can to detox, eat healthy and support the body systems and organs? Plus, there are many other factors like what and how many co-infections a person may have, not to mention other conditions that may hamper the healing.

In some cases those with fewer symptoms do get restored to good health faster, others not so much. As I said, it depends on so many other factors that there's no way to tell.

I love for you to be posting here with us!!! Why? Because you and I represent different sides of the same coin. We are both in a spot where we no longer deal with many (if any) symptoms of these diseases, but we have arrived at that point by different means.

You have used abx and no support meds - I have used herbs and lots of support herbs/supplements. It shows that we have to find what works for the individual - there is NO one treatment for all who are ill.

So thank you so much for continuing to post here!!! Besides, you are a really wonderful person! :-)

Actually, no. I consider myself healed. The difference being that there is no way at this point in time to be able to tell when someone no longer has no bacteria that can be reactivated to cause the disease all over again. We already know that bacteria remain, even after the most aggressive treatments - what's debatable is whether or not it can be reactivated somehow.

And that's not to mention a re-infection.

I have no active symptoms of the diseases I've had. What I mean by that is that although I still deal with issues due to damage that was done - some permanent, some still healing - they don't increase because I'm no longer in treatment and under different types of stress - some severe stress even.

And I do believe I'm the only "Traveler" out there on Lyme forums, but there's no guarantee. This one has kept me pretty busy the last few years! :-)

It's kind of scary to be honest! We are just one of the lesser known about Lyme boards and the number of new people each spring and fall just continues to rise!

Again, thank you for continuing to post here, helping us to help others. That's what it will take to help all those that are in need!

Hey guys, just read read the book "Root Canal Coverup." This book is full of research proving that spirochetes and other bacterium hide in the dentin tubules after root canal therapy and cannot be treated with antibiotics. (My LLMD recommended this book). If you've treated lyme sufficiently, it can hide in your teeth, go into remission, and eventually find it's way back out again. This causing re-infection. This may very well be why some people never get "cured." I'm currently saving up to get the teeth I had root canals in pulled and replaced with implants.

I posted on here about how I was improving on Cowden after just a few weeks. I started a thread & I had planned on doing updates every now & then. Sadly some people decided to private email me with very nasty comments. I haven't decided yet what I will do as the emails hurt & what I was writing was "just my progress". It's up to each individual to find a treatment that suits them & up to each person to use their own judgement on whats written in any forum.
I haven't been diagnosed with Lyme but I do have an MS diagnosis after I complained for 20+ years.

Mary, they're just jealous and don't want to see anyone get well except themselves. Please keep posting updates as it's so nice to hear about someone improving and getting their life back.

So if the CDC admits there is 300,000 new cases anually how many yeas until the entire US populations has it? Im sure theres going to be big changes in the next few years. Id like to hope atleast.

But going back to my original statement. I have a relative who lives in upstate NY who was bitten and not treated for about a yr when she was roughly 5 yrs old. Today shes 21 in college with exceptional health. And were only a few years apart and she always was in better health than I was. Thats why the strain thing crosses my mind.

I believe that there are many factor that go into why one person will be ill and one won't. One would be the status of the immune system - if the body is already fighting a virus - say Epstein Barr Virus - and it's really struggling with it, the body won't be able to handle an invasion of bacteria from a tick.

Another would be co-conditions - if you had say Crohn's or Hashimoto's Thyroiditis - the body is already trying to handle an extra load, so it's not as strong as others might be.

The number of strains and number of infections being passed would also play a part. Think of Lyme, Bart, and Babesia all as invading armies - and each one of the invading armies had 4,000 people - of course together they would be a much larger force to deal with.

And never down play the importance of stress - emotional, and physical stress. This alone can wear down the body to the point that serious medical complications can happen.

There are likely other factors as well.
