Lyme results for a confused woman

The only way your test could be That positive (very positive) and False...is if it was swapped with someone else's accidently or contamination with a positive sample.

I was infected & without successful treatment from the age of 7 till the age of 47, and believe me, the symptoms - all of them - can come and go. Chances are high that if you have lived with the physical issues long enough, you have pretty much gotten used to living with them.

That's what happened to me, but imagine my surprise when I realized one day that my knees and other joints(ankles, elbows, feet & more) no longer pop every time I move! I just thought that it was "just me", something that my body just did.

There are quite a few other examples too! My knuckles on my fingers are getting smaller, my innerds are working on a daily basis, and less arthritic pain and more.

You have an overwhelmingly positive result - that alone is surprising for a long standing infection- but be sure you get proper treatments, by ILADS standards, not CDC or IDSA's. Otherwise there will come a time that these infections will rob you of your life - being bed bound or house bound became something I had to deal with all too frequently until I got the right treatment for me.

That usually indicates a recent infection to be honest, although there is a whole lot of room for improvement on what we know about these infections!

Actually, for those that actually know, your IgG results aren't negative.
Band 39 is indicative of BmpA* and specific to Lyme disease (*Bacterial Membrane Protein 'A')

Band 31 - Specific to Lyme, indicative of OspA*. (*Outer Surface Protein 'A')

Band 58 is actually thought to indicate B. hermsii, a Lyme bacteria found on the West Coast. So that would be specific to Lyme as well.

So that's pretty positive, don't you think? Nothing else cross reacts to those.

Unfortunately, many families have Lyme. It does make sense though, as families stay together in their activities many times. As in they all go camping or to Aunt 'Suzies' and play outside, garden together and more.

Also, there are a lot of bugs that now have the potential to pass these infections on - mosquitoes, bed bugs, mites, chiggers, deer flies, horse flies, sand flies, biting flies, ants, spiders and more.

Anyone in your family showing signs of these infections should be monitored/evaluated to see if they too are infected. I would suggest that you take a look at the Master Symptom list for Lyme disease, and the other symptom lists in our "New to Lyme?" thread to help you determine these things.

I had never thought that all the joint popping/crunching sounds I have (I mean loud) could be related to Lyme, I was just blaming them on taking too many risks as a youth and getting older. Thanks for sharing that tidbit, another thing to put on my lengthy list.

Same here! Like I said, I thought it was "just me" - most of my docs while growing up believed that too!! So imagine my surprise when it all stopped! I was wondering what was going on for a few weeks, then I realized that it was just part of my healing - just like the knuckles on my hands reducing in size now!
