It's a bit of a sarcastic thread, but hey, what if we couldn't laugh with the misery we are going through?

It's important to laugh at yourself, especially if you want people to think you're clinically insane smilewinkgrin

Funny things happen to us: lyme brain, fatigue, clumsiness, bad balance, ... ?

Yesterday I drove my car up the parking lot at work, I was looking at my door and could not possibly remember how to open it. It literally took me minutes to get out of it, I looked, and touched and pulled every piece of my door... we have a saying in my language: I was looking at the door like a cow is watching a train pass by...

I had something happen to me at work and at first it really scared the heck out of me. Iwas trying to cut some roller shades for a customer and I have been doing this for 3 + years and all of a sudden I couldnt' remember how to operate this machine at all. I went totally blank, and felt like I had alzheimers. I couldn't think. It was scary as heck. Now I can laugh at it but at the time it frightened me so much . definitely lyme brain... it is awful sometimes!!!

Well,

I was in a garden-pet shop centre last week when I spotted some very handsome baby rats,I am very partial to rats,they are highly intelligent and make wonderful pets.

Anyway,I couldn't take my eyes off them and started walking backwards so as to enjoy them a little longer...................big mistake.

I tripped over a bucket and mop,crashed into a shelf of dog food which came clattering down around me and ended up together with me on the floor.

Lots of people gathered around to ask if I had hurt myself,except my daughter who was pretending not to know me.

She finally did ask me if I had done any damage,I thought she meant to myself.......turned out she was talking about the dog food.............Oh well :-)

Tickled, I hop you don't have any lingering effects from that fall. I think I would've been laughing hard if I had done that, then I would've crawled somewhere to hide. LOL.

I blank out sometimes and if my dh is around, he'll ask if he can help me. I just laugh and tell him I don't know since I can't remember what I was going to do.

Glad you're ok tickled!

Today I've been feeling very weird again, full moon or herxing or something, just very off, worse than I have in a week or more, but still managing to push through the day at work.

Anyways, I was walking into my department while having a coversation, and not watching where I was going, and walked straight into a lolly column, didn't really know what hit me. Gave everyone, including me a good chuckle! cool

I'm trying to contain myself and not LOL at my desk! Tickled...you're a hot mess LOL!!! I'm with GardenPeace...I would have crawled into a corner...and two days later I might still be there.

Mrs. Pallas...no more walking into walls or poles please! LOL!

I fell for absolutely no reason, and was a bit alarmed, but then my dog Whiskey ran towards me with such a worried look on his face, that I started laughing, and stopped feeling sorry for myself.

My immediate family got together for Thanksgiving dinner. My oldest brother and sis-in-law were there, which was great b/c they live out of state and I had not seen them and my two nieces in three years.

My sis-in-law was relaying a conversation that she'd had with a friend of hers who also is dealing with lyme & company. She said she looked at her friend and said, "Oh my gosh, yes, it's awful... my sister-in-law is fighting it right now."

I thought to myself, "Geeze, another person with lyme disease... I wonder which of my sis-in-law's relatives has it...." Then the lightbulb went on and I realized she was referring to ME....! LOL

I forget, that "sis-in-law" thing goes two ways, doesn't it. :) Thank gosh I didn't open my mouth and voice my confusion... I would've been very embarrassed by the laughter that would've ensued. :)

Do you ever answer the remote control, and turn on the TV with the phone? Ever sat down on the toilet without pulling your pants down (but realized it in time, thank goodness)? Ever gotten into the shower with your clothes on? Looked for your glasses when you had them on? Said something like, "Put your hamper in the laundry?"

My ex-boyfriend, who is sick as well, but won't get tested for anything (that's another thread), took his evening pills, including a sleeping pill, in the morning, and had to go to bed!

Oh Teragram, that doesn't even begin to explain some of the weird things I have done!!

I've found keys and boxes of cereal in the freezer, my comb even empty pots (as if there was food in them confused) in the refrigerator, and I'm still dyslexic with words & spelling in both spoken and written form and sooo much more!

Just remember these things: wink
It's okay to argue with yourself, as long as you don't ask "what?" because you didn't hear it!

you are hilarious... seriously...

(and far too polite, may I say)

I loose everything... and get so panicky about it - I loose my keys all the time (I need one of those whistle back thingies) - start sweating like crazy and have to turn everything upside down (about 3 times) - it even stresses my husband... and it's very difficult to stress him...

I have so many floaters and things jumping into my vision field, that every now and then I 'dive' away, like a boxer trying to dive away from a blow. I see something coming my way very fast and I dive, also on the street - I get very strange looks...

Ok I had a fun day! This morning we had our department holiday party. We played the White Elephant game. A bunch of gifts...everyone goes up and chooses one. Some gifts are nice and some are...well...crazy lol!

Now if you see a gift that someone else has that you like you can steal it.

Long story short...someone stole mine. Then I decided to steal someone else's. I ran across the room like a line backer to steal the beautiful table top water fountain and tucked the box under my arm like a football and ran back across the room LOL!

I didn't know I had it in me to run! I almost tackled the guy LOL!!!!

I once hugged a stranger, thinking he was someone I knew. Oops!

Get this, I have never, never hit anyone, but around Halloween, we went on a "haunted trail." A "monster" jumped out at me, and I socked him in the face, then I apologized profusely. He said, "That's ok; now I know it's working!"

I don't know why I keep going to "haunted" places, but we went to a "haunted house" as well. There was a tunnel of lights that literally looked as if it was going around and around. I got about halfway through it, and I couldn't go any further, so I got on my hands and knees, and started yelling for help. Another "monster" came by and said, "Honey, it's not really moving." I said, "Well that doesn't matter, I still can't walk." He very graciously helped me up, and escorted me through the tunnel.

Funny moment of the eve...about to get into a bath to detox and the power goes out!!!!

Ummmm...I will just wait until tomorrow lol! After hearing some of your stories I don't want to fall or do anything crazy LOL!

All of your stories are really funny! 

I don't know if I had lyme at the time (I am really goofy in real life) and on one holiday my first husband and I were off to see his Mother (could have been Mother's Day, I don't remember).  It was at least a 1 hour drive and before my husband got on the highway I asked him to stop at a fast food store so I could buy a cold soda.  There was a line and I felt rushed as I knew he wanted to be on the way.

I run out of the store with my soda and got in the wrong car and started talking to the guy in the driver's seat saying how sorry I was for taking so much time.

Then I finally noticed the guy was NOT my husband and I apologized and this stranger was laughing so hard and when I got in my husband's car he was also laughing so hard as he saw the whole thing.  I was really embarrassed and felt quite stupid!

2 AM still can't sleep.. so glad I saw this post... TY so much for the smiles...

On the phone with my mother tonight.. she rambles on.. and on... for an hour... asks how to spell my husband's name... I have no idea.. I couldn't tell her.
