IV silver and toxicity

Has anyone successfully used IV silver to treat Lyme? I'm seeing a doctor who swears by it, but to date it has:

1. Caused my veins to swell to a point where I can barely bend my arms.
2. Put me into the ICU for a three day hospital stay with poisoning, bloody urine, and liver and renal failure last week after my sixth treatment. (the first hospital admission of my life.)

My doc swears this is "normal", but I was close to congestive heart failure and was exhibiting severe symptoms of poisoning, and I don't believe it was a herx reaction. To make matters worse, the toll on my body has set me way back in Lyme treatment, as I now feel as bad as I did three months ago (and I had made some headway.)

Aside from a mild flu-like Herx reaction where I felt better the next day after the first treatment, I saw no other real benefit to this and I would advise others to strongly consider avoiding it.

I am just curious about other's thoughts and experiences.

Oh my goodness eurolyme!! I am so sorry to hear about that!! I would not continue that tx at all!!! Is this a llmd that is treating you? There i a lot i still need to learn but i have never heard of this! I do take collodial silver 2-3 days a week but i only take 1/2 a tsp. I usually herx later that day but it doesnt last long. Please consult a different doctor if you can! I hope the moderators can help you with this.

I have never heard of using it that way. Those are some scarey reactions and I'm glad you're warning others about it. I hope you're quitting and looking for a new doctor. I'm sorry he put you through that. Keep us posted on how you're doing it.

I can't remember (sorry) if you are seeing a good llmd, but the reaction you had to it is life threatening...
May I ask how the drs at the hospital reacted to this? Had they ever heard of it before? Did your own dr show up at the hospital?

Please please be carefull... I read this repeatedly here on the forum: please don't kill yourself trying to kill the Lyme...

Wow!  You were poisoned!  I hope you are not going to see this doctor anymore.  I did try silver by mouth and I felt nothing, not good nor bad.

What worked for me was Dr. Jernigan's protocol and that was 8 years ago and I'm still doing fantastic! 

Please do your research no matter what you decide to do.

Hi guys - thanks for the notes.

Marie - the doctors at the hospital were very concerned and noted that another two or three hours might have resulted in my death. The doctor who gave it to me did not come to the hospital and is pushing for me to resume the treatment (insane).

Denise - thanks so much - when these boards are full of people who haven't recovered yet, and the folks who do disappear, it can get depressing. It's nice to hear from someone who's ok.

Holy Cow!

Don't ever use IV silver! It's a metal!

The amounts that one would use orally are minute, but doing it via iv means you're putting large amounts of metal in your body.

Fire the doctor immediately; in fact, I would consider suing him for whatever it cost you to be in the hospital.

I'm so very sorry you have gone through this, Eurolyme! I too would encourage you to find less damaging ways to find your healing! If you need help in finding someone to treat you, surely someone on here knows of someone in your area that won't treat you with risky treatments like that!

I hope that you heal from that experience and can start *real* treatments soon so you can start to heal and feel better!

Thanks Traveler - one of my challenges is that I have been trying to get IV Rocephin for weeks now (I'm 6 months from the tick bite) and no one has wanted to do it. I'm in touch with another LLMD so we'll see what happens.

How are you feeling today, Ameri-Euro?

I sure hope that you get some real treatment - no matter what route you choose!!!

Remember that detoxing is going to play a very large part in how well you tolerate any treatments!

And please do let us know how you are doing, and how the new LLMD turns out for you!

Well said. I've done some experimental stuff knowing that it could be lethal, too.

You tried it, and that is what counts. It may work for some people, but at least not you know that it does NOT work for you.

If it makes you that sick, I would stop.

Just breath colloidal silver into the lungs and directly into the bloodstream with a nebulizer intead! Helps a bunch with my Lyme!
