My LLND recommends between 5,000 and 10,000 IU of Vitamin D daily, and the United States Government only recommends you take 400 IU's a day. That is what is typically in a multi-vitamin, 400 IU's daily which our governmnet calls 100% of your daily value! They are short on that by a long shot. You need to take 13 times that amount to just get 5000 IU which is what a lot of doctors recommend. I am taking 5000 IU's daily and I am still short on the level in my body my doctor said. Ask your LLMD what you can do to increase your level.
