Can't hear out of my left ear

I woke up and I can't hear out of my left ear is this Lyme related? I was at ear doctor two weeks ago they said everything looks fine...

I am sorry you are dealing with this.

I have been reading that this can be/is a lyme symptom. I have also read that this can come and go. I hope you soon get your hearing back. And, of course, the dr won't find anything unless they look for the real cause, lyme/co.

I have the constant buzzing/radio frequency type of noise. Mine won't go away until treated. I know mine is from the co-infection(s).

It came back then left again then came back I don't know what's going on

My ears keep doing weird things also and the volume gets turned down then it quits out of nowhere. Another weird Lyme symptom. Hang in there.

This is pretty annoying I feel like I'm getting more symptoms randomly I started with like 3 then began treatment I'm 4 months in on heavy abx now I get new symptoms all the time

Which co-infections do you think it's from cocoon? My LLMD thinks i have Bart but I've never been tested for co's. This is also something new I've been treating for 4 months and this is defiantly a first

I'm new to all this, as I've just gotten dx in Oct. '13.

Maybe those who are more familiar can answer this one? Help?

I have that happen some, but not a complete loss of hearing. It will just randomly come and go. I have constant buzzing too.

Like Revive, I have days that the volume is down in one ear, then all of a sudden it's back again. But not complete loss of hearing in one ear.

My left ear is always foggy or clogged as if I need to pop it. Twice since the lyme I have lost complete hearing in it and boy does that do something to your balance. It seems to be a symptom of lyme or in my case Babesia. Hopefully it will just be an annoyance and your hearing will remain intact. FYI my ENT MD also told me nothing was wrong with the hearing/ear etc.

Just took a nap and woke up same thing again can't barley hear out of left ear

Went to a minute clinic they looked in and said I have some fluid in it left over from a cold I just got over he prescribed a nasal spray but it has what he called a topical minor steroid so should I not use it ?

I would contact your LLMD before taking the steroid. The hearing loss can be lyme related. I have heard of antibiotics effecting hearing as well.

I've never lost hearing, but twice my right ear felt like the eardrum busted. Once about three months ago, and again last month. Very painful. No discharge, but wow, does that hurt.

I always have buzzing/radio frequency type sounds, and in my right ear only, I now have moris code going on, started about a week ago. I also have my ears 'stopped up,' and once in a while one will open, but not for more than a few minutes. Closes up again. Sheesh, always something.

I've also had severe bouts of vertigo, but extensive testing showed I was fine. Right. Peachy.

I am not on any meds. So mine is strictly lyme and the co-infections/ babs, and babesia. That I know of.

Hang in there. Hope your LLMD will know what to do about the steriod.

Hearing issue, with one side or the other, is not uncommon, but there can be so many different causes of this symptom, none of which are easily diagnosed, that mentioning other symptoms, - and solutions, is
indicated.
Questions include: Do you know if you have neuroboriollis?
If you 'smile', is one side slightly impacted? If you do a smell test, say of peanut butter, are you able to smell it at a foot away with one nostril, vs. extremely close to your nose on the other?
(While your 'inner ear' is well within your skull, it is not part of the immunologically privileged area that your brain is, so impacting your inner ear is not an indicator of an impacted CNS, while hearing anomalies may be).
If you dump a cap full of Hydrogen Peroxide in your ear, do you hear it 'fizzle'... on both sides equally? Does it get LOUDER on the weak side? -If so, repeat a few times (which cleans your ear), and follow with an isopropy (or Vodka) alcohol chaser... in the previously wetted ears.

Hope your hearing comes back. I know how frustrating it is, I have been living with it for years.
I have ringing in the ear off and on all the time. It does come and go. Sometimes ear or ears will feel muffled. Next day everything is fine. Have had ears and hearing checked by a Ear, Noise & Throat doctor 3 times and was told everything is fine. But yet I still get ringing like now.

I have fluid in my ears my hearing came back but they keep popping. I'm on too many abx to have an ear infection according to my doctor. He provided Flonase nasal spray but it's a minor steroid so probably not going to take it

Tbrown...over the last yr or so I have experienced bilateral ringing in my ears and in the last few wks after adding a second abx I have had fullness in my right ear that feels like it needs to pop but never does. I have had my ears checked because of my vertigo and of course ...I'm in perfect health lol...everything was fine with my ears. I don't know how hearing issues relate to Lyme, but in reading other peoples posts...it surely does somehow.
