Anyone have a day of good, surprise energy, then all of a sudden, you need to lay down immediately or you're going to collapse? That is so frustrating!

Yes, absolutely. The past few days I've actually been able to do some cleaning and wash my kids clothes. I used to have good days, and even weeks sometimes. They are getting fewer and farther between. It sucks sometimes for sure.

I would suggest that if you haven't had a 24 hour saliva test for your adrenals, that it be something at the top of your "to do" list. Also be sure to check for hypoglycemia.

My first thought was adrenals too. Mine are off and I will crash if I overdo it.

Reading this makes me understand what my son (almost 4) must feel sometimes.

He's only had symptoms (noticeable) since Sept., so thank the Lord each day he still has energy. I'm praying with treatment he'll get well fast!

anyway, sometimes, he'll be playing, or standing, and then just drop himself down to the floor, not in a "passed out" way, but in a "I can't even stand up right now" way. Then he'll say "carry me to bed mommy."

I hate this whole thing.

Adrenals, I'll ask the doctor about that at our appt. Thursday.

Stacestar, I would also encourage you to take a good look at his throat area - does it look swollen around his thyroid area? If you believe that it might be, please don't hesitate to have that checked out as well. Just be sure that they check both T3 & T4, not just TSH.

The one good thing your son has going for him is that he is young & he hasn't lived with this for decades. You have saved him a lot of misery - take my word for it!! He will heal much better and more completely because of this - so pat yourself on the back for being aware enough to see it and not just telling yourself that "he'll grow out of it" or whatever.

Had adrenal testing. Blood test, normal. Saliva--compromised morning/afternoon adrenals (low), night-time (normal). I feel pretty good in the evening. Best of luck in feeling well to everyone.

Greany, I would suggest that you look into supporting your adrenals. Do some reading on the subject and I'll bet that you'll come to the same conclusions - when trying to heal from a serious illness, low adrenals will complicate this.

thank you Traveler and all on this post; I wouldn't have thought to ask about this to our doctor on Thursday, (the thyroid issue I mean), but now that you mention it I remember reading somewhere else that lyme can cause thyroid issues (or something like that) and I'll ask the doctor about this!

Yes, I can be ok one hour and then an hour later have to lay down. It is very frustrating cause you can't plan life since you have little warning when it is going happen. A frustrating symps for sure.

Does anyone here have the names of the tests that need to be done to test for the adrenals? I suffer just like it was described in the above posts but my Cortisol and ACTH came back normal. So did my T3, T4, TSH and free T3/T4. Are there any other tests that my doctor might have missed to test the adrenals?

You will want a 24 hour saliva test. These will include anywhere from 3 - 6 "collection" of saliva times.

Also make sure that you aren't suffering from Hypoglycemic issues. Does eating a high protein snack resolve or help you to recover much quicker?
