Thanks for sharing in my joy guys, I'm glad it lifted some spirits!
To all who are doubting their healing, I would just like to share what my Dr. told me, and maybe it could apply to you as well.
I'm a doubter by nature, and VERY impatient, so I am constantly doubting my treatment.
My Dr. Finally told me, Look, treatment is long, it's hard, and there are no shortcuts. It took a long time for this damage to be done...it's going to take time to fix it, and sometimes the little improvements we make, or even the halt of progression aren't given proper credit because they're completely overshadowed by the big things that take longer to heal.
In my case, where my scary issues are mostly muscular, and neurological, he told me I have to understand these things can not regenerate over night. The body uses extensive amounts of energy to repair these areas, and healing can feel as weakening, and tiring as the disease. So just because a person still feels that way in the earlier parts of treatment, it doesn't automatically mean it's not working.
He did however tell me that if there are no big breakthroughs by 6 months, the aggressiveness of my treatment is going to increase at a much faster level than it is now.(right now he switches me up and increases my dosages slowly around every 2 months)
Now granted, my Dr is experienced in treating this disease, and he lived through it himself. I've researched almost everything he tells me, and it gives me confidence that he knows what he's doing. He is noticing gains, so I choose to trust him.
In no way do I want people who aren't getting better to just wait it out. It's important to communicate with your Dr, and do everything you can to make sure you're on the right protocol for you.
I just want us all to remember that while we live in an era where everything always happens fast, healing is not quick. We should acknowledge every step forward, no matter how small, and even if comes with two steps back. We need to try to allow ourselves to see it as a small victory, and proof that our body's still got it...it's showing us that it's capable of gaining the upper hand, if only for a little while at first...we just have to keep pushing on!
