We all hear that lyme's only happens in the northeast but that surely can't be the case for everyone. I'm interested to hear where everyone contracted it.

Around Albany, NY for me.

Ok Matty, where were you infected?

I was in Morgantown, WV, probably out riding my horse and don't recall removing a tick or having a bullseye.

Bit twice on Long Island. LI is a hotbed for Lyme but not so much where I was infected in western LI.

Three places: Chatham County, NC, and (second bull's eye rash!) the NW mountains of NC.

Even the CDC acknowledges it has spread beyond the Northeast.

Just not these stupid-a-- doctors!

My mom thinks when I was around 2 yrs old in Cheshire Connecticut, where we lived. I didn't have symptoms that screamed lyme till I was 9 yrs old. I've probably been reinfected though throughout my life. I live in maine.

My uncle was bit on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, confirmed by blood test - he almost died - and was in the hospital for 3 weeks - until his son, a doctor, flew in from Hawaii and made them run the test.

East Dubuque, Illinois.  I believe I was initially bitten in 2007 - bit again in May 2010 and then again April 2011.  Symptoms begain July 2010.

LLMD's agree it was a red fire ant bite in the California desert that gave me Lyme, Bartonella, & who knows what else...

I've also been bitten by a biting fly & a few spiders in Montana, lots of mosquitos in Washington State & Montana, and fleas in Washington State.

Never saw a bull's-eye rash.

Woods around Iowa city, Iowa. Have not tested positive, but feel it's what I have.
Also was bit by something when I was digging in the ground. Don't know what it was. Also have been bit lots and lots by mosquitos, ants and spiders...and have had tics on me since a kid out fishing creeks.

Idaho, California, Arizona, Missouri, Arkansas, Indiana, Illinois - every state that I spent much time in I was bit and got worse. Started before 1970 (that's when I had acute RMSF), and continued until 2009.
