There are a lot of herbs used for sleeping and I would recommend trying some. My ND told me that for my body type (lean, generally high energy, high metabolism) that tryptophan was good for me. When I was having adrenal issues I used rhodiola to reset which helped my sleep immensely. I know others on here have has luck with valerian root, ashwaganda, melatonin, there are some herbal sleep aids also...if you are concerned about getting a prescription there are certainly other things to try!
