I read that the other day when someone posted it on a fb lyme page, and agree it's very good.
Glad to see it here too.
With my son having lyme, and not me, I appreciated the article a lot. I see my son in what she was saying.
Especially in the part where she said the fatigue (or sick feeling) could come on quickly.
I've never doubted any of my sons symptoms, and it had helped that I had read elsewhere that they could come and go, but it always still kind of surprised me how quickly he would go to total fatigue.
one day we were at Target, in the bread aisle, and I turned around and he had laid himself down on the floor in the aisle. (He's four, at that age you can get away with it without people thinking you're crazy). A lady said to me (nicely enough) "oh, someone's tired." I thought, yeah, if you only knew.
He does that, laying himself down places, a lot, and it will be kind of suddenly.
Her article helped me see that the sudden, extreme fatigue is common. Again, I never thought he was exaggerating his fatigue, but it's made me more aware that this is part of what someone with lyme goes through.
