hi my name is dylan... I just recently got diagnosed with a really strong western blot lyme test. I tested for 8 bands positive. you only need 3 to have a positive test. For the last 6 months my visual perception and functioning has been getting worse. Its like i start to see things in spatial fields where i dont even know what im looking at. I cant track moving objects and just find it extremely difficult to hold a focus on anything and its not like what i look at goes out of focus i just lose touch with it and kinda space out. this is a 24/7 thing for me...i go through most days not knowing what im actually looking at... I was just wondering if any of these symtoms sound familiar to you guys/or if you guys have heard of anyone with these type symtoms Its really difficult living every day like this and even with the evidence that its lyme i feel as it its something else that will last forever. Its hard for me to forsee a change being that every day is like this. I have started antibiotics.

I have similar visual disturbances and actually they were some of my first symptoms along with excessive sweating and random hives.. Sometimes mine will get better typically in the evenings and also when I'm not under any stress, anything like this for you?

ya honestly its my main symtom. my vision is like this from when i wake up to when i pass out. My other symtom is never feeling like im in my body to the point where i dont even feel like im standing or walking. But ive never had the sweating or hives but ive had repetative sleep paralysis. waking up unable to breath for a few seconds. and crazy long panic attacks

dylan123 that sounds awful! I have had vision problems too. So sorry you are suffering so much. Hope you can find help soon!

Hi Dylan, I have moments where I can't seem to focuss, as if my eyes are all over the place at the same time. But it's not all day or all the time. Some days I can't read, the sentences don't stay on the same line, I can't connect the letters or words.
It must be horrible, so disturbing...


Are you getting treatment? seeing a LLMD?

I hope that someone who had this and has healed can see this message...

dylan, I'm so sorry to hear of your eye troubles. Glad to hear you are starting treatment though. The human body is amazing. I had things that were going on every day, that rarely happen anymore. There is hope. :)

Dylan that is all horrible to endure, you hang in there. Better times are coming. I don't have advice other than to stay the course and reach out for support here when you need it. I will be praying for you, visual stuff is awful, and panic attacks are terrible. Do you take any meds for the panic? I take klonopin which kills a few birds with one stone because it helps my nerve pain too.

Hi Dylan,
I'm sorry to hear you have these symptoms. This is considered neurological lyme. I've had the same vision and depersonalization stuff for over 10 years. The lyme is in my brain and my eyes. Tough to treat, but I'm confident that with time and aggressive treatmemt, it will go away. I honestly have had these symtpoms for so long, I don't remember what its like to not be out of it, or to see the world like healthy people do.

This symptom has really messed with my social life, as it's difficult to act normal when you feel like you just drank 5 shots of whiskey. You're definitely not alone. I'm 6 months into treatment now. When these symptoms get better, I'll let you know!

Hi dylan, you are not losing your mind. I had many visual problems when I first developed symptoms and started treatment. I had blurred vision, low vision, floaters and really bad dizziness. I had the, shall we say, "out of body experiences" where you have this bizarre detached feeling. I really had problems going out in public. The disease causes brain swelling. I also had the panic attacks, anxiety. I was a mess but it was about 5-6 months before I felt somewhat normal again. Hang in there. Most of us have started where you are and made some good progress. . I used ammox high dose for several months followed by Omnicef ammox and also doxy. You can learn to pulse the abx eventually. Take care.
