I'm new to this site but have been witnessing my husband's Lyme for 3 years. We live in Colorado, not a huge Lyme area, although we now know of twelve infected people in our small community. My husband was bitten when we were in Virginia, and we didn't have a clue about the disease.

He has had several doctors and recently his neurologist said that she didn't know what else to do. Luckily, we got in at Columbia University this last week. We will hear results in about a month, and now we have some hope that he will recover.

It was a difficult and emotional interview with the doctor, and grueling brain tests for my husband. We met another Lyme patient there and I would like to stay in touch. The person visits and posts at this site, and I'm hoping that this is read and we are able to remain in contact to compare results/stories/support.

I spent the last 2 nights reading posts and am grateful for this site; I've felt so alone.

How sweet of you to be by your husbands side through this. It is a tough road for all of us, spouses included.

I encourage you to read our 'New to lyme, Start Here' thread. There is a lot of good information on there.

There are many ways to heal from lyme disease, so keep your husbands options open, and if a treatment isn't working after awhile-the good news is there is more to choose from.

Hi witness, Welcome aboard. And I hope you and your husband can find some comfort here. I think your husband may experience some improvements after beginning treatment. It took me about 6 months to feel halfway normal. Keep the faith and keep in touch. Hugs :)

Welcome. This is a tough path for those ill and their families. Hope you find the support you need here. Look forward to hearing about your husbands treatment and ultimate progress to recovery.

Welcome to the forum! Good for you to be such a help to your husband. He's lucky to have your support and understanding. Keep us posted on how his treatments go and ask questions whenever you need to. I wish him the best.

Don't hesitate to come on here, it's a great place for all kinds of support! I don't know what I would have done without this forum. You know there will always be someone on here who will be there when you need it so much.

There is a site that you may find helpful for you, as well as this one, it's called Lyme Spouse. It was designed to help those who have a loved one understand what the one infected is going through - although we are bold enough to answer most any of your questions about what we are going through as well!! LOL!

Thank you for the responses and support!

I have tried to visit lymespouse.org and am not able to connect via it's no longer available or temporarily out of service, but I will try again. In our area, high-speed internet is not available, and we have satellite service. It's VERY windy here and that could affect the service.
