What's up with my red nose???

I noticed 2 days ago my nose has many, many, little red dots, making it look red all the time. I've been taking doxy, azithromycin and atovaquone for 2 months. I called the pharmacist, but she said if it was any meds it would be "more diffuse". I am seeing my PCP tomorrow for routine blood work...

Is this a Lyme or coinfection symptom?

I believe it could be a babesia or bartonella herx? I read of people getting babesia red dots and bartonella could cause this sometimes too. In your case it is unique that it is localized on your nose. I read of people that get these on their back and some people just get the odd one in random places.

I have had a red nose since I have been sick. Actually, I started getting sick in December and my nose (only) would be bright red after walking out in the cold. Now it's just bright red all the time. I'm not sure what confection it's from. You aren't alone in this symptom.

Possible sun poisoning from Doxy? I got it pretty bad on nose and cheeks on Saturday.

I would have thought it was from sun too, but during the day it comes and goes (not completely, but it gets toned down some) also, I didn't get any on my cheeks. I always where big sunglasses though, which is a good habit I picked up from having eye cancer.

Anyway, thanks tickbite666. I see the PCP tomorrow and hope they can shed some light!

I think I have the same thing!  I am on doxy too but like you said I have nothing on my cheeks or anywhere else on my face.  I thought it was sun at first but when I look closely it is little red marks...not diffuse redness.  Let me know what your doc says!

It is the sun y'all.

I was on doxy and the very same thing happened. Little red spots that made my entire nose look red. Not on my cheeks. It was sensitive to sun and wind/cold.

I told my LLMD and she switched me over to cefdinir and it immediately cleared up and I can now enjoy the sunshine!

I sort of thought so. I am hopefully going on IV with different meds soon, so I can no longer be referred to as Rudolph!!

I also have this red nose symptom! I notice it on my chin too sometimes but my nose is much more obvious. I have been sick for 10 years - after an off roading accident, and looking back, I don't remember having this red nose problem pre-accident. I am doing treatment right now and it was more red than ever when I woke up from my nap. I was herxing at the time so I decided to see if others have this symptom. That was a few weeks ago. The same thing happened today after treatment. I took a nap and woke up herxing with a bright red nose. No sun burn. I have tested positive for Lyme and am waiting for test results on co-infections. Let's keep this thread going so we can figure out what pathogen is causing this..

I get the dry red patches of skin too mostly on the face. I am sure it is not sun in my case. It resembles and spreads like tinea. It happens once in a while. I am not on any antibiotics for weeks now so its not that. I did one day of Bravo and plan to repeat every 5 days.

(I will be doing Woodland Essence CSA and Myco compounds as soon as they arrive and will continue with Stevia)

I see no individual dots in it, but I have got 3 tiny scabbed dots in a row on my left arm which is a familiar thing I have seen before. I used to think these were possible bed bug bites because of the line pattern of three, but no bed bugs.
