Our daughter tested positive for bartonella, negative for babs and had 2 IND lyme-specific bands. Her symptoms included:
Pick-like headache in the skull bone above and just behind her right ear, long bone (forearm/shin) pain, pain on the bottoms of her feet, chills, hotflashes, tingling/numbness in hands and feet, Tourette's-like motor/vocal ticcing, pain at the base of her skull, sound/light/touch sensitivities, loss of fine motor ability, decline in executive/cognative function, cyclic IBS symptoms, severe stomach pain (caused her to sit down), dizziness, anxiety attacks, palpitations, severe fatigue (had to sit at the top of the stairs after having walked up), emotional lability, raging, low threshold for frustration. No rashes.
Whew, it wasn't fun.
2 years of abx treatment for bartonella helped her physical symptoms, malarone helped with cognative/executive function and fine motor abilities.
I can definately say now that we are having further improvement on Buhner's FULL bartonella protocol (not just a couple of herbs, but the whole shebang!) with some additions from the babesia protocol than we ever did with abx, and without the horrible herxing. We are using 1/2 dosages of most herbs - our daughter weighs 90 lbs.
Some of the other supplements she takes include:
Black walnut hull, raw garlic, garlicin, hawthorne, ginger, american ginseng, low dose astragalus, oil of oregano, curcumin, olive leaf extract, extra virgin olive oil, vit D, liposomal glutathione, phosphatidyl choline, methyl B vits, NAC, l-glutamine, vit C, vit D, probiotics, milk thistle, lugol's, fermented vegetables and cilantro.
She is now functioning better than many of her peers in terms of energy, endurance, and cognative ability.
LIFE IS GOOD!!!
