What is the best treatment for chronic lyme

Just found out that I have lyme well at least I think I have lime. I'm still a little confused about the test because of the Western blot only showing reactive in band 23kd imb. My Dr. Believes it is chronic lyme due to the array of symptoms but I still need to go to a LLMD on may 2nd.

So I guess my question is, if I have chronic lyme and have had it since 2009, is three weeks of 100mg 2xdaily enough. I would rather do an aggresive treatment. Has anyone done an I've antibiotic treatment?

There is so much confusion about Lyme from the Drs I have talked to. Are the herbal meds working better for you mommy 2. I learned more on this site than I have anywhere.

I agree your hormones are probably haywire. I have thyroid and adrenals issues , and my sex hormones have been a mess!

you want progesterone , estrogen and testosterone and all the frees and totals done too. I believe men check protest???? Check your thyroid, a full panel, vitamin D, a full iron panel. RBC magnesium , b12...
just to get you started. You may need to go to a more functional dr to have these tests done as mainstream dr.'s will tell you you only need tsp and t4 for thyroid beaux they're stupid and don't understand the thyroid.

Thanks mommy, I will ask my Dr about these tests. My primary is a good Dr and should not have a problem running any test. I do get a bit nervous about treatment. I think I will leave that to the LLMD.

I have been going to Envita for my Lyme disease and so far so good, the other patients here would agree with me! The doctor over here gets to the root of the problem - the infection - not like other clinics who only deal with neurotransmitters.

Thanks jackblack, I would love to treat this ore aggressively but that is all my Dr. Would give me. I'm going to meet with an LLMD in Philly next week, I hope he gives me other meds. Can I get something natural to bust the cyst's. I'm in a tough spot, my western blot only shows reactive on band 23kd IMG. My Dr does not know anything about lyme specific bands and will likely give me dozy three weeks and done.

Last night I was sweating like crazy and then I got cold chills, it actually felt good, like if something was happening. Woke up andmy headache is a little better but I feel really weak.

Does the doxy alone kill at least some of the lyme or is everything just going into cyst mode? My cousin has lyme also and I remember he got a few things off the internet to break the cyst, but he is also or doing well.

Holy Cow; it depends on the individual, the coinfections, etc.

It is almost impossible to say what the best treatment for chronic Lyme is.

It really depends from patient to patient. One will do great on abx, another will have to start on abx and then switch to herbals, another will be better on herbals. Lyme affects so many processes in the body, some are 'blessed' with a very high bacterial load, some have been infected for a shorter period of time, others have been infected for decades. That makes that treatment is different for each and everyone.

For instance: both my sister and I have Lyme and Bartonella. She has been on abx for a few months and is hardly herxing, it just started. I was on abx for 15 months and had to switch to herbals a few months ago, have been herxing ever since.

I think it is good that you are seeing a dr who is treating with both abx and herbals. It probably means that he knows his stuff.

Most important things, in my opinion are: learn a lot about the infection(s) yourself, go day by day, don't kill yourself trying to kill the Lyme (these are not my words, but I'm sure our other member wouldn't mind me using them).

Hi all .... don't wanna sound like I am pushing but I have heard a product called Immune Booster IM works for Lyme. Apparently its meant mainly for HIV but has had some great results for Lyme in the USA. Not sure if its used here for Lyme yet. It's expensive and its an injectable but I guess not being well is expensive. I don't have Lyme but have had some other immune system problems and I take it and find it really helps. Just google it if your interested.

May I be so blunt to ask you what immune system problems you exactly have?

Lyme Disease is a very complicated infection, and I would like to know a bit more about how exactly it worked for you. And what you heard it could do for us Lyme patients.

In the past, before these infections were discovered (I was already ill for 18 years then), I took something very similar because of another infection (also very expensive, but not THAT expensive....), but it did nothing for me.

I just did a quick google search, but don't find any connection between Immune Booster IM (Regenex) and Lyme Disease.

I'm curious...

As for healing from these infections once they go into the chronic stage, it's all highly individual. The reason for this is because there are co-infections, and other conditions that we have that will dictate how we heal.

I am an "antibiotic failure" when it comes to these infections, but I was able to heal from them by using all natural methods - even though I was infected for literally 40 years before getting effective treatments. The issues I have going on in my body are issues that other don't have, yet they can prevent us from healing from these infections.

While these forums are great for getting ideas, please be sure that you work with someone who will help you to decide what's appropriate for you and your body. I've watched as past members have tried using several different protocols at once, using only parts of several protocols or have just thrown everything at these infections, and most of them ended up worse off than when they first joined this forum. So please be careful and work with a very knowledgeable doctor.
