First LLMD visit tomorrow - what to ask, what to expect

Hi all,

I will be visiting my LLMD tomorrow for the first time. This is probably the most important Dr visit of my life, so I want to make sure it works out very well.

So far, I have documented all my symptoms, including severity and when they occurred.


What else should I do? What else should I ask?

Exciting, isn't it? I have been seeing my llmd for years, and I still get that funny feeling when I'm about to go and see him LOL

Make sure you make a list with all of your questions: it might get overwhelming, or you might even get emotional. All that still happens to me every now and then rolleyes
And take a pen to take notes! Or an actual person, 2 pare of ears catch more.

You could ask him how he sees treatment further on, does he only do abx, or also herbals?
Be sure to ask his contact info, in case of 'urgent' questions, you never know.

Other good advice? My memory is bad for now, I'm sure others will jump in.

This is what else I was planning on asking. Does it look good? :

1) What is my prognosis like (since its early/only 4 months)? Will I be cured? How many have you cured?

2) How long will I be on treatment? Symptoms for 4 months now.

3) How bad will my herx reactions be, since I have only had minor symptoms?

4) Suggestions for best herbal remedies? Success rate with Herbals?

5) What supplements/vitamins should I take?
a. Milk Thistle?
b. Multivitamins + D?
c. Oregano? Garlic? etc

It's so great that you have been documenting your symptoms; this will be helpful. And yes, it will probably be emotional.

Be sure to take any medical records you have so that he/she can review them.

Is there a cure or does Lyme go into remission; will I have recurring symptoms? What side-effects may I experience (hair loss, memory loss, fatigue, muscle spasms)?

Can this be transmitted via bodily fluids? I think that doctors are still researching this.

Methods of detoxifying? Helpful? Necessary and why?

I would also ask these questions. Good Health to You!

looks good Strategy, but don't expect too much about a prognosis, it is really different for each and everyone of you. But if he has been treating a lot of patients, he might look into his own statistics, that is what my dr does.

I would definitely ask about coinfections, how he will diagnose them and treat them.

Certainly ask about supplements and detoxing.

Good that you are onto it that quick! Congrats on that!
