6. special devices or a doctor's visit is necessary to remove the tick properly
This is not correct. We have to be able to remove the ticks ourselves, or risk greater rates of transmission of tick-borne infections. The longer the ticks are attached, the greater the risk of infection. Here is a video of how to pull a tick that has attached:
youtu.be/0wotB38WrRY Then if the person will send the tick in for testing, they will know if they need to watch for symptoms or not:
www.igenex.com/files/ticktest.pdfIf the person starts having symptoms ('fluish' feelings, pain, fatigue) when no one else is ill, it's incredibly important that they find a Lyme Literate Medical Practitioner that has had training from ILADS - not IDSA!!
You should also add to #1 - Lyme is a
complex bacterial infection.....
The bacteria that causes Lyme disease is incredibly complex!! It can actually
hide from our immune system. It changes it's outer surface proteins, can shed it's outer surface membrane and can hide out in biofilms until 'the coast is clear'.
#2 isn't exactly right either. The bacteria that are dead are transported out of the body via detoxing pathways. It's actually the dying bacteria that release toxins that drive the symptoms of Lyme disease.
