Looking for answers and LLMD in IL area

I have had chronic joint pain, fatigue, insomnia, tinnitus, muscle twitching, "brain fog" and severe headaches along with other symptoms for almost 6 years now. I was tested when my symptoms first began for lyme disease but I was told I did not have lyme. I was recently able to get a hold of the elisa and western blot I had done in 2009 which revealed a positive elisa and only one positive band on the western blot - the IgM band 41.

I was recently told that because of my symptoms and these test results I should still consider further testing for lyme disease and at this point I am willing to pursue any help I can get! I live in the central IL area but I am willing to travel to see a doctor that may be able to help me finally find some answers.

Any advice or doctor recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Kay-bee,
I can email you some dr.s names from Chicago and WI.
I live in Iowa,so when I was looking I got some dr. names from a Chicago lyme support group.

Also, don't know what part of IL you're from, but I find the Chicago Suburban Lyme fb page to be a good place to ask about Dr. references too. Most people from that page are from Chicago and see dr.s in that area, or close by, and although they don't mention dr. by name on the fb page, (they go by initials) people are usually really good with sending a personal message if they have an answer to a question about a dr.

And, a very good, very experienced lyme dr. is in MO, Dr. C. Don't know if you've heard of him. He's supposed to be very good.

Thank you Stacestar! I have tried to contact Dr C in MO but he doesn't have any openings until December....I have heard how hard it can be to get into a LLMD. I was hoping to get some answers sooner or at least possibly find someone willing to do the Igenex testing.

I am starting to look through the lists you sent me, thanks so much!

Hi, there

I live in Illinois, and know of a office in Elgin that will run the igenic test, they charge 60.00 for the office visit , and you pay igenix the 260 for the test. Please pm me, and I will give you the information.

Also I have seen three llmd's doctors in Illinois, and I can give you some feedback if you need it.

I also would suggest joining the fb group as well, for chicago, they are very helpful, and I am on there too.
