Igenex test results???

I am finally getting my blood drawn for the Igenex test next Monday.

How long does it usually take to get results? I will be travelling 3 1/2 hours to see LLND if I get anything that represents a positive test result...and don't want to make an appt. too soon. But if I wait til the results are in....it'll take me three weeks to get in to this very busy LLND. So, are they usually back within three weeks?

Does Igenex tell you if it's positive?

Mister Mike: Did you personally get the results...or was it you doc they sent them to? Too bad they don't email the results..

The ND said a physician (ND or MD) has to order the test...is it possible that I could just order it from Igenex?

That's BS. Order the test yourself from Igenex.

On the form there's a place for Physician signature REQUIRED.

So, I do have to have an MD or ND to sign it....

Girlie,

Being from Canada this is the process that I undertook to get the test done:

1) Phoned Igenex, had them send me a test kit, it comes with all the necessary things that you will need to collect and ship your samples. Read the instructions carefully, once you do you will understand what you'll need to do.

2) You have to get a doctors requisition to order the test and get the blood drawn so unfortunately that's a necessary step.

3) Once you send it the test results will go back to the Dr that requisitioned the test. Make sure you receive a copy of your own.

4) Even if your doctor doesn't know how to interpret the results exactly, I would suggest coming on here and posting them. Many people here (including me :) ) know how to interpret the results, at least to the point whether your positive negative and which bands are specific to Lyme.

Remember as well, even a negative Igenex does not necessarily mean you don't have Lyme, as even the best tests miss some for various reasons.

Except according to someone else in Canada (Alberta) - he/she said that the test kits are being held at the border now for several weeks. So, I am going to call the LLND in Victoria and see if they have any kits and maybe they could send me one, with a signed req. Then I can ditch the ND that I saw today....
She wanted to treat me for menopause...and when I told her about my migrating pain and body vibrations....she said she didn't know about that.... Geez - I can get anybody to treat my menopause symptoms...if they were my real concern...don't need her advice...She knew i wanted Lyme testing from the get go.
