Hi. For two weeks, I've had a constant headache like I've never had before. Constantly tired, weak, some jaw pain and dizzy and off balanced. Definitely not myself. So I went to the doctors and got a bunch of blood work done. She said it sounded like Lyme. I got the results thru LabCorp's site this morning. I tried to call my doctor to talk them over, but all I keep getting is a busy tone.

I searched Google and found this site. Hopefully someone can help me process these results until I get thru to the doctors. I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you to anyone who may be able to help me. Here are my results:

Well the good news is your bloodwork looks fantastic. Your liver enzymes are really low (good). Your WBC are definitely on the high end, though still within range.

The lab tests for lyme are unfortunately pretty bad. However, that being said - p23 is a species specific band for borrelia meaning that you have had an exposure. CDC criteria for being positive is that you need to have 5 bands but it doesn't really make sense if you have a species specific band coming up.

It is certainly possible that you have been exposed to lyme. I would suggest looking over our "New to Lyme, Start Here" thread and perhaps start a new thread. "Looking for LLMD in ____________"

An LLMD can properly evaluate you for lyme disease while the majority of doctors cannot.

Thank you for your response. I really do appreciate it. So because I've been exposed, does that basically mean that I do have Lyme? And you're right. It doesn't make sense.

Still getting a busy tone at the doctors. Extremely frustrating. But thank you again for responding.

I have band 23, and I have Lyme, so I would say yes, but I am no doctor.

What state are you in? You will need a Lyme literate doctor.

My daughter (same name :-) ) started out with headaches and other symptoms came on gradually, but we didn't find out the cause until about 3 years ago, so I hope you're catching it early and won't have to go through the things my daughter has. She's 26 and can't work or go to school. I hope you find a good LLMD or LLND to get you started on treatments soon. I'm sorry you're going through this when you have a young child.
