So my husband and I have to use condoms, that sounds like fun.... Wth :-/

I don't know how old you are...but what's worse than condoms? Being menopausal and using condoms...(won't go into details) lol

Lol I am in my thirties still, some days I don't feel up to it. Many days I don't but I do it anyway and I am usually glad I did. I just got an iud last August so we wouldn't have to worry about birth control. My youngest child is 20 mths and I'm done having babies, for multiple reasons including lyme.

I got a copper T iud because I dont believe in hormones. Now we are supposed to use condoms? We both have lyme so we would just pass it back in forth? We are both chronic so it will never go away anyway.......

Maine I don't see a point of doing that in your circumstances. I would understand if one of you were healthy but if both of you have it???? Why? It escapes my reasoning.

Maine, this made me laugh!

lymebabe - bc if she gets pregnant, it can be passed on to the baby. That's what I would think.

As for me, I am in the same situation - it is costing us a fortune, bc I am allergic to latex, LOL

One thing Lyme did for me was bring out the wild side - I went nuts in the fall, then when I got sicker, of course I was so out of it, but once I got better, My God, we have been literally doing it twice a day - with the kids up and all - LOL. We really need a bedroom upstairs......!!

This made me giggle. Thanks for the mistake!

So... I looked for your copper IUD post and cant find it. I have one. How did you know it was making you sick?

I dont want to take birth control or use condoms (sorry!) so I went w the IUD. But sometimes I wonder if it's making me sicker too.

I'm in my 30's and I am pretty fertile still.

I'm fertile too, just had two babies 14 ,moths apart and I was exclusively breastfeeding and bed sharing so baby was nursing all night. I swear I get pregnant if he looks too long.

No I didn't discover my iud is making me ill, I asked if it could.. Violets said copper can cause problems. I haven't yet discovered or researched what a copper T can cause. I still have my iud.

I'm serious we used to do it 3-5 times a day and now it's 1-2, sometimes skip a day if I'm really really sick. I would despise condoms! You know we've been spoiled at this point! ;)

We used to wake at around 3:30 and 5 am to do it, it was not rare. I'd love to get back to that, we were both in better shape, it burns calories, we got along better, and we felt better... Natural anti depressant. And my stomach was ripped even after having 6 kids! It really tones things when you do it regularly, good sessions. Lol

Kudos to you for your energy level Maine!! Work and kids and stress put a damper on things for a long time, but my husband and I finally reached the point of intimacy we had been looking for. This is one of the main reasons I am glad I ended up with Lyme, bc I am not so sure this would have happened otherwise. We are not forty yet, so we are still young - and have lots of catching up to do!!!

Here's a good website that explains how IuD's cause copper toxicity and how copper toxicity causes candida.

I wouldn't be surprised if copper toxicity/biounavailability plays a part in Lyme, too.  I have seen studies that show that the copper valance is what causes calcium to enter the immune system cells, and that's what causes the Lyme endotoxins to enter the cells.  Would you like to see those studies?

seriously, when you get there (like I did two years ago) you'll see it's really not old (it's all relative anyway)
and at 40 something I don't find me or my husband to be slowing down any. (well not including the stressful, "are we going to stay married" time this past winter. Thank God that's over!)
(although 5 times a day? not lately; not ever actually have to admit!)

Just had to jump on to represent the forty year olds. :)

(I agree with lymebabe, a reunion or something would be fun)
