How do you know? Re: LLMDs

I will preface by saying that I hope this post isn't offensive as it's not meant to be at all.

How do you know an LLMD is not trying to scam you? By that I mean that a lot don't accept insurance and these tests seem to be pricey. It seems a lot of this is word of mouth to ensure you're not seeing that kind of doc. I'm even weary of emails from some of these Lyme foundations (no specific one in mind). But how do they get these names and are these docs thoroughly screened in some way so we know we won't get someone trying to make a buck off someone's hard times?

Can someone educate me or put me at ease please? It seems heart breaking that any doc would use someone's Lyme to make a quick buck.

For what it's worth I've been lucky to find one doc that seems awesome and takes my insurance. Board recommended. And I have a back up I plan to try that someone emailed me. I'm far more comfortable with that kind of rec versus a random email sent to me with a list. Because again, I value personal experiences.

If you read Beyond Lyme Disease by Connie Strasheim and ask questions based on that book you will know if the dr is a scammer or not. She is very thorough and is a Lyme patient herself.

of course there is a big business! you are sick, you have to pay!.....

i would try to go in CUBA . they have good doctors there and very good sistem and almost free. i don t know if they treat LYme there...
