Just wondering if anyone had any side effects from GSE? Or are there any side effects of GSE?

Lymepickle - For some reason your last post made me smile. I am always on here posting and reading like a maniac - but then I see you post again...and I think...ok it's not just me. lol I think you're keeping up to me (almost)

I have not heard of GSE having side effects... but I haven't known people to use it for Lyme disease...until a few months ago.
I thought I read someone post that you could herx bad from it...but you're not talking herxing...just side effects?

Ya I took 1 gram and I can't even herx from that. I was just wondering if there are any side effects?

I too take GSE and have gone up to 1 gram, however did not notice any side effects nor did I herx on it. My LLMD (incidentally we have the same LLMD's) says that taking anymore than 500mg per day will be of no extra use. He also believes that GSE is a good cyst buster for Lyme. I take GSE everyday, but to be honest I'm not entirely convinced that it's working against the Lyme...!

I definitely get headaches from it and back when I wasn't feeling well it was giving me bodyaches as well - it was too strong for me when I first started it. I was taking 500mg three times a week MWF, and my Dr changed it to two times a week, but in consecutive days, so that if I herxed, it was all at once instead of herxing one day then two days later, etc.

Hmm... I just can't herx anymore. I take 1 gram of GSE every day. Mind you I hardly have any symptoms at all. In this moment I guess I'm actually symptom free. Tinidazole worked superb. It gets everywhere. I think the reason why Lyme is so weak against tinidazole is because I read that it's genetic information is actually stored in 2 membranes of the Borrleias cell walll! So it's DNA is on the outer layer of the cell wrapped around the spiral like wall it has. Even when it wraps itself up in a cyst it is still prone to attack from this. But one thing for sure it made me feel toxic afterawhile. Maybe I didn't have enough off days. But now that I am off the tind I feel so much better!

Unlucky -- Are we talking about Dr. R? I think the GSE does work a bit, but not so well in comparison to the tinidazole. The tinidazole is definitely the more toxic compound though. GSE also works for yeast and I am reading it kills cancer cells too! It's a pretty safe to take. It is a mix of different polyphenols.

Yes, we're talking about Dr R! I'm also on Tinidazole and for a while, it helped with my main symptoms and gave me some relief. However, I crashed really badly this month, all progress gone! Main symptom became even worse! :(
Dr R reckons I've probably got Bartonella too! Don't have the 'classic' symptoms of Bart, but my main symptom is very neurological and has messed up my CNS, so my treatment regimen has now changed. Tinidazole has been changed for Rifampin.
Still continuing with the GSE!

Great news about you being cured/in remission, it gives me hope, especially since I'm being treated by the same LLMD!

Hi unlucky... No i'm not cured/in-remission I just don't have many symptoms left. There is something wrong with my brain though, it just doesn't feel right. I believe the Lyme got into my brain and neurolyme is hard to treat. It is mostly cleared from other places in my body.

It is that or there is something else going on, possibly damage done from the drugs or after effects of the Lyme. It varies so much throughout the day so I believe it is Lyme related.
