new to lyme

I. - Welcome to the Forum. Sorry to hear about the conflicting diagnosis in your country. I know that you can send your blood to a Lab. in Germany and for a fee they will do a specific Lyme test with co-infections if you so desire. I know that one member from this forum did just that because she was not satisfied with her results from 2 labs in the States. I hope she reads your post and chimes in. I am trying to remember what that Lab is called - I even e-mailed them and they replied saying that anyone can send in their blood sample for testing - I just remembered - it is called InfectoLab - look it up on the internet. I hope you will find a doctor soon that will help treat you appropriately - very disappointing to run into Doctors like the one you mentioned that wanted to give you Xanax and nothing else - stay away from THAT doctor for sure. New doc started me on doxy 100mg, but my skin was on fire and itchy and I was vommitting so she changed it to amoxicillin 500mg with a probiotic , but I'm having tremours and pain in my head, numbness in my left arm and a feeling like needles pricking me under my skin, also keep on getting a shortness of breath. Ive been on the new tabs for 3 days now.

My new doc says she is not very familiar with the disease and has only treated one other lady who was over from Germany and was staying in Cyprus on a 3 month holiday. Doesn't sound too positive does it?

The only good news is the new doc speaks fluent German and made her studies in Germany. I will definately ask her about the infectolab. She said she would review the disease and get back to me.

I picked this doc because she also does alternative therapy, ozone, homeopathic, bioresonance and i thought they might be useful once i had finished my course of antibiotics.

Hi Tano, I will speak to her about it thanks, I do need to speak to her asap as I feel I need some sort of plan to follow. At the moment my knowledge is so limited its feels like ive been dropped into a vast ocean of lyme and I am drowning.

It's good to know I now have others such as yourself with the experience of the disease to converse with. Thanks so much for taking the time to reply.
