Hi!
about five years ago, after I came back home from university and I suddenly felt absolutely terrible and and had horrible fever along with gastrointestinal problems. After having fever and being nauseous and having diarrhea for a day or two, I started developing some very strange symptoms such as the worst kind of migraines that the inside of my brain was contracting and relaxing or twitching horribly. I continued to get worse and my health deteriorated over the next few days and I eventually was taken to the emergency room and they did all sorts of blood tests and other tests. However, they did not find anything. They gave me some pain killers and told me that I would feel better in the next few days. I did not feel any better and it took me about a month to become convalescent. Two months after this incidence, I started having cardiovascular symptoms and had terrible heart burns as if my heart was burning. After having that for a period of time, I started having weird twitches in my eyelid (right side) and my right leg felt stiff and would get easily tired. Then, the twitching of the eyelid was transferred to the right eye and then I started having them in both of my eyelids. The twitching of the face and chin was the next symptom and I had that for a while too. All of my symptoms suddenly disappeared and after a few months, I had the most terrible headaches. I consulted a physician and they again insisted that there's nothing wrong and my problems are due to anxiety and stress. The most recent symptoms I have are twitching in my entire body days and nights (eyelid, hands, legs, face) everywhere. I have also noticed that my sense of direction and my short term memory is also not as good as it used to be and I have noticed and confirmed this on several occasions. Weakness in the left hand and right leg are also some of these recent symptoms that come and go with tingling and twitching. I did not know anything about lyme disease until very recently and I was wondering if anybody has experienced any of the symptoms that I have experienced in the past five years. I have thought about consulting a neurologist; however, I started to have all of these problems after I got sick on that cursed day and I have not felt better since. So, I am suspecting that my condition has an infectious origin and lyme seems like a likely candidate. What is you opinion?
