Going to cut to the chase and hope no one finds it offensive.

In February of this year I had unprotected intercourse with a known female friend. Soon after I developed burning scrotum, burning thighs, entire penis burns, balanitis, peripheral neuropathy, burning face, muscle spasms and other symptoms. I have been tested over and over for everything and even had her get tested. All negative. The only thing that I have tested positive for is lymes and anaplasmosis. I've been on two 10 day cycles of doxy. All my symptoms still persist. I was wondering if anyone else has burning in their genitals from lymes? I feel like the only one.
I am in the process of going to a llmd but they are booked out two months in advance. Please if anyone has heard of that at all please let me know!

I'm SOOO sorry you are going through this. I don't have an answer but I'm going through something similar. I have LD and I'm not sure what else. about 3 months into treatment my throat, ears, nose, all started burning. Burning so bad I couldn't function and the pain was the worst thing I ever experienced in my life, which was24/7. So finally I noticed some growth in my tonsil area as well as what appears to be like a million tiny slice like cuts in my tonsil area, all little tiny ulcer lesions in every nook an cranny in my tonsil.

So, something is attacking the tissue there. Is this from the LD itself? Or an allergic reaction to the herbs that I was taking. I don't know but it's been 3 weeks and the burning hasn't resolved. I do know bartonella causes burning searing pain. Also yeast. Good luck. I'll pray for both of us.

Hi John,
The disease is sexually transmitted as you probably have heard. It is spreading around very efficiently.
Ten days of doxycycline will not be enough to rid you of this disease. When you see the llmd in your locale and bring your test results with you. That person will likely prescribe longer term abx. I would try a walk in treatment center for more abx until you can make contact with the llmd. Good luck.

Thanks for the prayers. I will keep you and all the folks in mine too. Have you heard of anyone with these symptoms? I believe it can be sexually transmitted but I feel like the only one who has it like this? I also have had to tick on my member so that could be relevant. Or maybe there is a coinfection that they are not finding as well?

Bartonella most likely. It's responsible for the burning, I've heard.

Are you saying you had a tick on your genitals ? OMG sick..sorry. Was it embedded ??

Yeah I had one embedded 2 years ago. And the symptoms came up after a sexual encounter. No rash though. I've had a lot of ticks through out my life so I pulled it off like it was nothing.

Well the disease can go latent for a while so you very likely are having lyme related symptoms esp after having more than one bite over the years.

I just don't know why it would emerge this way where no one else seems to have those burning symptoms, especially after the encounter. Even though I've been tested for everything else

John- We have some similar stuff going on. I have burning everytime I urinate for the past 17 years or so unless the urine is clear. Been to numerous Urologists but nothing comes up. May also have burning in the tip if I'm sexually active. Could be Lyme/Bart. I did pull a tick out of my arm about 20 years ago. After I got re-infected in 2011 with another bite I now have tingling and burning in my legs and feet. I agree with Louise that it's probably Bartonella.

It doesn't hurt when I urinate, just hurts all the time basically. Always on fire and I rarely get relief. I also have balanitis that I can't seem to get rid of as well. Glad to know I'm not the only one in this boat.

Hi John, is your female friend sick as well? Or is it just you?

Maybe your genitals hurt the most because you have the highest bacterial load there.

I had sore and tender testicles. Also my prostate was a bit sore, but that all resolved with treatment.

No she's fine, she thought I was crazy and still does. Initially thought I had herpes so I kept questioning her. Needless to say she doesn't talk to me anymore. Hoping I can get on treatment soon to help it all go away. I'm really worried of permanent damage! I didn't asks her if she's been tested for lymes before she quit talking to me so I don't know if she has it or not

Here is an experiment to try. Polyamines are concentrated in the prostate and they're a protein so they contain nitrogen. Eliminate meat from your diet for a few days and see what happens.

I only recommend eating meat a few times a week and as Americans, we typically eat meat every meal. Changing the way I eat has dramatically changed my immune response.

Make sure you get tested for STDs, but treat the Lyme and Anaplasmosis, for goodness sake!

Yeah I've been checked for every std all clear of that, but it bothers me how it all came about and the constant pain! Working on getting into a llmd soon, but it's a big hassle finding one and getting in in a timely matter!

Though i haven't had the burning on my genitals or anything in that area for that matter i did just like you have a tick on my member (partially imbedded in the head) about 2 years ago and like you i just pulled it and tossed it as i have been bitten by ticks many times over the course of my 26 years. My symptoms just started about 4 months ago and i did test positive for anaplasmosis but not lyme (although im sure i have that and many co infections) Getting to the point i guess, Im seeing an LLMD and im on 200mg doxy for 30 days, then we will switch it up and add to the mix. With all that said you need more meds.

One a side note im not shocked she stopped talking to you haha I was in a similar situation once with the same results.

Do you believe you could have these infections as well?
