Igenex results in - advice - ND won't release them

I called the ND's office and asked if results were in. The receptionist said they are. I told her that I am looking into having the ND here in my city starting my treatment, as travelling is really difficult on me , as well as expensive. I am interested though in the IV treatments further down the road as the ND in my city doesn't offer them.
I asked her if there were any positive bands...and her reply was that they don't release any information over the phone. Then I asked her to fax the results to the ND in my city. She said she didn't know if she'd do that and I could get my results next week at the scheduled appointment.
She said that maybe I could pay for a phone consult at my scheduled appt. time next week, but she wasn't sure if the ND would even do that. I then said, "Aren't the results mine - I did pay for them?" The receptionist said she'd get back to me.
Is it wrong to want to know if there's any positives on the test results now...and not wait until next week?

She should be able to fax the results over to the other ND. I wouldn't even ask if they can do that - it gives them room to say no. Just say that you are transferring to such and such doctor. Here is their fax number. If they need more information to call you.

Sorry Girlie, that really stinks :(. My doctor wouldn't give me the results over the phone either but said that I needed to come in and that it was not negative but they would discuss it in detail more during the appointment.

You could try calling igenex, once they have sent the results to your dr for review theu sjould be ok in sending you a copy. Not sure. It sucks jow yhey have passed laws and so called rules that treat us like we are 2 year olds. You are right we paid for the tests, the paient should automatically get copues of all labs yhen it is patients responsibility to discuss with dr of their choice. There is no common sense.

There are no patients rights, just lip service and no accountability. To hold information from sick people is shameful. I went to labcorp today to pick up my test results that were complete so I could start preping gor my llmd visit next week and the receptionist had the audacity to tell me she could not print them but they would probably ge here monday. Then she admitted the person authorized to print the took off for the rest of the day. Good grief we now have to wait on the one peson who is able to pull up a lab result wnd press the print key....no wonder the world is falling apart.....no common sense. Of course it is my fault for driving there instead of callingand aassuming any able body in their office couls hit a print key and retrieve the lab results from the printer.

our medical system is not patient centric it is docyor and insurance company centric and who cares what this system puts a patient through. I am getting anxious cause Ihave to drive nearly 3 hrs next week to see an llmd for 30 minutes which will probably cost 250, plus the gas and I was feeling better and hoping to do it in one eay instead of having yo get a hotel room 80-100 dollars. Nothing seems to work anymore. You go to see a dr now you spend 15-30 minutes while the nurse and or dr enter stuff in the computer, most of that time your not ttalking. They want to micromanage our healthcare but they cant seem to make people healthier.

How do sick desperate people fight back against a system that is no longer working, productive and just drains our limited funds without compassion. Too bad we cat go on collective strike against yhe doctors, 8ne week a month everyone dancel their appointments, they will jot stand up for their patients until they star feeling financial pain. Which many of us are familiar with.

According to HIPPA, you are legally entitled to receive a copy of your results. You may want to check out this article on how to request of your medical records and what to do if you are denied access to them.

Igenex told me they could mail me my result, without any doc, Approval.That's really mean that your physician did that! Don't they realize that people's lives are on hold while this all being processed. Bad enough you had to wait for results to be processed,and now more waiting!!!
