You need to be using a good multi-strain probiotic when you are taking antibiotics. The antibiotics will kill your good gut bacteria causing digestive issues and the good bacteria will need to be replaced, preferably a couple times a day.
Take them at least 2 hours after taking abx, or the abx in your system will just kill them off. We also try to take them right before bed so they can use the overnight hours to repopulate your gut.
We use a rotation of ReNewLife Ultimate Flora, Culturelle, Align and PB8, but there are lots of good ones out there. We also ferment our own sauerkraut and other vegetables.
We use DE along with cilantro as one of our detox protocols. Just make sure you take it away from abx (or in our case herbs) as well because you don't want it binding the abx (herbs).
I have seen it mentioned in several places that DE doesn't bind the way clays can, and that it can be taken with food and other supplements, but I like to err on the side of caution.
